I must confess that I love reading MS-DOS user manuals and books about MS-DOS. Man, this operating system turns me on! I have the MS-DOS-fetish.
One of the best things I like to do is to wait for a storm, then retreat to my bed and read DOS-related literature during the storm (anything from books to user manuals, my favorite is the Goldstar CD-ROM 8x user manual and the install instructions for DOS 5.0 or up included in this manual). And yes, however crazy that sounds, it is true The last operating system I tested on my old computer (AMD Sempron 2600+) before moving to the new one was MS-DOS 3.3, booted from the floppy disk (it was the first version to support 1,44 MB floppy disks, released in 1987). Apart from MS-DOS-fetish, I also fancy dial-up modems, love reading about Windows 95/98 architecture, history of UNIX, ... But MS-DOS holds a special place in my heart... ------------------------------------------------------------------ You can imagine me behaving like Krebs does in this parody, when I read a book about DOS 6.22
