Thanks foxy. Those locks symbolize love forever, couples take a lock and put it on the bridge and then throw the key into the river. The above picture is from Frankfurt, a bridge in Cologne has much more locks ... so much locks that as an engineer I was worried about the structural integrity of the bridge. Ill post a few pics of it.

As you can see there a tons and tons of locks and they cover the whole span of the bridge, most locks have dates, names, and messages on them
