[DISCUSSION] Blonde - first single from the sixth album

Hey everyone. It's been a while. I'm back briefly to give my opinion of Blonde and I'll be MIA again for a while. Just doing college stuff for those who are interested. It's keeping me busy. Despite my absence, I do follow her moves on Twitter and Facebook! I was so happy when I saw she had a new single. Although it is very poppy, I like it. Generally speaking. I love how her last album, 5, was really dirty. And by that I mean relied on actual instruments and was just raw music. I appreciated that. However, I understand the need to adapt in today's music society. I am a little concerned this maybe another 50/60 Experience, where a few songs were good and the rest fell out of use immediately. Also she looks super cute blonde. Over and out.

Thanks for posting Jacotey. Can someone clarify what exactly these numbers mean? Were the figures taken at the same time after each song was released. I also wonder with J'en ai marre, was that song first unveiled in a studio performance where she wore the jam outfit, or was it released on the radio first?

I just looked it up and the performance and the song as well as the video, I believe all came out in the same month and the video and the performance had to do a lot with how well the song did though in my opinion it was a great song to begin with. A "good" video could help out blonde, but I don't think enough to make a significant difference.

It looks like those informations are from Charts In France (http://www.chartsinfrance.net/Alizee...e-sc32073.html). I don't really know how the charts work, but I think that they just counted how many times Blonde was played in the first week at radio stations in France and compared this number to numbers of other songs, not only the new ones.

However, not all numbers from my post match with numbers on Charts In France (for example 'Moi... Lolita' was at #2 position after first week, not #9).

But even with those inaccuracies, we know that Blonde, with poor promotion, had better start than ACDLA and Les Collines.

Its about sales, not playing in radios. In the past week, in download ranking, Blonde was the 69th.

So compared with her singles from UEDS or 5, Blonde was more successful

Scruffy makes a good point, as does Ray. As much as I like "5", and surprisingly, even her single "Blonde", I think that if she recorded a song similar to this one- it should do very well, as it really does showcases her unique voice. Why we don't hear her sing more of those, is hard to understand. Maybe she doesn't want to, or maybe someone is advising her differently.

Surprisingly, Blonde, remains a song I am listening to. It continues to grow on me, and I am liking more and more what it represents - a new, fully alive, Alizée.
