Scruffydog777: Welcome to the forum. Have you read any of Tom Clancy's novels?
Scruffy, thanks for the videos. Yes, it was Tom Clancy who introduced me to techno-thrillers and spy novels. Specifically, I think it was A Clear and Present Danger. I'm also a big fan of Fredrick Forsyth. The plots in some of Daniel Silva's series about Gabriel Allon, the Israeli spymaster, sometimes involve the island of Corsica and an underworld boss there.

As I mentioned in "psychosis" post, I may have seen or heard Alizée rapidly during period 2001-2003, but it is not entirely certain.
Instead, the fact that when I found Alizée, is known... Admittedly, for a while I thought a little wrong moment because I was so confused when I saw her! It was this video: https://youtu.be/pqTcHtSSfUE At first, I thought it was August 18, 2020, but it was August 16, 2020, because to confirm it, I did a search on my YouTube history. [Btw... you can guess that the search took some time, because I've been watching her the last few months so much!] Because of that moment of discovery, there is one special and interesting thing about this case. Before that, I’ve practically had one mega-level idol globallyl, Elvis. And everyone who knows Elvis knows exactly what 16.08. means...

I discovered Alizée on August 20, 2000 in Paris
"Do you remember the exact date" is somewhat similar to the "How I discovered Alizée" thread.
I discovered Alizée on August 20, 2000 when I arrived on vacation in Paris. Back then Alizée was like everywhere, with her posters being on every poster wall and in (magazines in) all kiosks and Moi... Lolita being played throughout the city. It's special to realize that was the last day we were both 15 years old and it's now over 20 years later, still talking about it. In 2000 everything was physical, not online. In Paris in August 2000 there were many large physical advertising spots with the Moi... Lolita Alizée poster. Every few shops / kiosks / street vendors played Moi... Lolita, with someone next to it actively approaching every tourist, trying to convince them to buy the Moi... Lolita CD single then and there for the French franc equivalent of about €5/$5. Even 20 years later Alizée's Moi... Lolita is still the 33rd best-selling single in France ever, with over 1.280.400 units sold. Just imagine a giantic pile of over 1.280.400 physical CDs having all been sold just in France for over 6 million Euro / Dollar. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...gles_in_France In all those years since 2000, just three songs managed to stay more weeks in the top 10 than Alizée's Moi... Lolita. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syndic..._in_the_top_10 |

Yes I remember it was some time on Saturday April 10 this year, I am a very recent fan! In the middle of an unrelated discussion place, I stumbled on the Moi Lolita video and was instantly captivated. It feels odd to discover Alizée at this point. She gives me a feeling I never experienced with any other star.

I’m almost "an old fan" on this road, even though I’m only a year old fan! The obvious thing is that almost every week in the YouTube comments you see at least one new Alizée fan who went crazy! Too bad only a small percentage of fans find their way into these discussions, like all of us! Ps. It’s interesting to think... Which songs attract the most new fans the most, probably at least JEAM, ML and LIB & Gourmandises, JPVA!

Don't remember the EXACT date and day but it was during the last week of November 2004.
This was before YouTube and what we had back then, people had video pages where they would host various videos. One day I was on one of these video pages and there was a post labeled Cute Girl. I clicked on it and that was all it took to fall for Alizée. It was the La Isla Bonita cover of Madonna. I must have watched that video over and over for at least an hour before tearing myself away to post it on anther board, which had an international membership. I had asked if anyone knew who this girl was. About twenty minutes after posting, a chap from England chimed in and let me know that her name was Alizée and she was a French pop star. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Maybe you give us more details? As with Lefty, I discovered her through La Isla Bonita song. I was looking for a Madonna song to download "I'm hung up" and during that search I saw that image of a beautiful young lady I had never seen before. I clicked on it and was amazed, but I wasn't overly impressed because she was singing someone else's song. So I did a search for "Alizée". I clicked on Moi Lolita in Amsterdam and that was a moment that changed my life.
