Tech stocks don't pay squat for dividends because they are always reinvesting to expand their company. The fact you got a penny a share for NVDA is lucky.

I haven't used an advisory service for years. The biggest stock advisor is Jim Cramer on MSNBC and he probably is wrong more than he is right. I generally perform scans for stocks that have been beat down and are reaching a price point where historically it has held up and rebounded, because odds are it will rebound again.
You are right ! I try to get the stocks going up in value as I need the money. I had KO Coca-cola; but I dumped it as it's value was going no where.
It is a good stock for a young guy, as they can't go bankrupt and pay dividends; but I need the value going up, as I am an older guy !
The market was down last time I looked; so no one seems to know what is happening ?

Now is not the time to buy electronics such as a computer or TV; as presumably the faster AI chips will hit the market and the newer sets will be twice as fast if not more supposedly.

I saw where GoSun, I think it is has a novel idea. A Mat of solar cells you drape over you whole car; when parked, and then they charge you car from the sun. Since they block the front and back windows, then you cool your car at the same time ! Also it is cleaner, free energy ! A good idea, at least I think .

A good strategy is to put recommended stocks into your watch lists, them you can check them alter to see if you want to buy !

only stocks that seemed to look good, last time I checked, are LLY, JNJ, KVUE, Comcast ( I hate them, because they used to overcharge me; but the stock may be good ), BEN, and lastly SMCI- but I am still slightly leery of it, especially since all AI seems to be down lately ! INT appears to be dropping off the board, unfortunately I still own 2 shares in the Red !

Default S & P 500 changes

Some stocks were demoted ( such as American Airlines ) and others Promoted onto the SandP 500 notably PLTR ( something to do with Ai I think ? ) and Dell a ( PC maker as well as other things ) and Erie Indemnity ( I'm not familiar with it, but it sounds like an insurance co. which must be doing ok to make the Promotion ! )
The stocks promoted always go Up, because the ETFs that specialize in this area start buying their stocks.
As a former contractor employee; I know that most of the Computers used in all government offices are DELLs. This is because they are very reliable and don't break as fast as others . Some people use Macs; but only about a small percentage in the government !

AAPL stock announces the IPhone 16 I think and so they will probably go up in value as a lot of the IPhone people will immediately upgrade ( unless due to the bad kind of economy, they don't ! ) I have a few AAPL shares ; but I don't have an IPhone, Ha ! ( I am behind the times ! )

Default Stocks that have been good for me

Some Stocks that have been good for me
AVGO Broadcom AI ( I forget when I got into it but I am up 1,000
NVDA Nvidia AI ( I got into it years ago, but I am up 1,000
MSFT Microsoft getting into AI and the Cloud, and I am up another 1,000
LRCX Lam Research Ai this one goes up and down a lot, but I am up 1,000
PSA Public Storage REIT In the red for 2 years, but now I am up 100
O Reality REIT This is -300, but pays me $10 a month !
MA Mastercard I am only up 150
AXP American Express I am only up 150
MCD McDonalds Used to be good, but is down as fast food is expensive now !
ADP ( I forget ) but up and down I am up 100
AMGEN ( I forget ) but I am up 100
HCA Healthcare but I am up 100
Motley Fool ETF I am up 1,500
I should probably put more money into ETFs, because then they watch the stocks for you. You do have to pay them a fee, so you should try for the ETFs with low charges !

Stocks that are probably good; but I don't participate in them anymore
PM Philip Morris I don't think I want to have people smoke !
PFE Phizer Shots I haven't liked them since the Virus !
Moderna Shots The same as Pfizer !
So I guess I have some Scruples after all !

Sign of the times ? IS PSA storage up because people have had to downsize their houses and apartments and so they have had to put more of their goods into Storage ? A variable you won't see in the government figures !
And O the REIT is in better shape, because more people are returning to the office and so office space rents are up ? The Reit has been down as much as $400 on me, but is now back up ?

Default Your Retirement money

In the states; when you retire, they usually offer you a lump sum or you can take monthly check from some company !

If you take the lump; you will pay taxes on the whole amount as opposed to only paying taxes on your monthly check.

However my take is that you should always take the lump sum; following an old adage; "If you've got money, you can make money ! "; whereas with a monthly check you won't have much money to do anything with and inflation will eat into it as you go along !

So I took my lump sum from the last company and have made some money with it in the stock market ( fingers crossed that we don't have an economic collapse in the US ) ! Ha !

Default The market seems to be in a state of flux ?

I am hesitant in the market; although more or less committed at present !
Every day MSN for instance says Buy Amazon; but I have a couple shares and Amazon is going nowhere ? Even Alphabet is going nowhere.
If I had extra money sloshing around now I would buy a few META, although it is expensive at about 560.00
Most stocks on the US market are 50% over-priced or more. Meta does pay a 50 cent dividend though ! Somehow they are making money !
People don't seem to have any disposable income right now, so Amazon is not making money and Fedex and UPS probably are not shipping anything either !
Last things I bought were a cheap printer and a cheap keyboard cause my old printer was messing up and my keyboard letters were wearing off !
The US Dockworkers on the East Coast and Gulf coast are threatening to strike; so that will mess things up, too!
Mithril on the Aussie market; reportedly, has struck Gold and Silver in Mexico; so they are up on that market !
They are MTH there !

As distasteful as it may seem, some of my better performing stocks are in the war business - Palantir, Raytheon, Northrop-Grumman, etc.

I figure, my government spends endless mountains of money on war and it's materiel, at least this way I may get some of that money back!

And it does not matter of consumer spending - the government's going to need its bombs and missiles one way or another.

Yes, We used to worry about a million dollars going missing ? Now we worry about a Billion Dollars going missing ? !
There is a good movie about the 2008 fiasco; "Too Big To Fail " where everything was crashing and the government had to bail all the companies out !

Default Life Advice; What to Collect ?

Forget about Things ! They can't do anything for you !
I made the same mistake many people do. I was a US Civil war Buff, so I collected CW Things. I had an artillery short sword that looked exactly like a Roman Short sword in the movies. One thing I did collect that was successful was I used to go to "yard sales" and I would look to see if they had any CW Muster rolls of Regiments ( these were usually from Union regiments ) and I used to bid $1, $2, $3 for them ! Any Muster roll you find from a union Regiment today is worth at least an automatic $50; so that was actually a good buy ( but I digress ) They are probably worth much more today !
Anyway you should collect people in your life; as somebody will always know something more than you do !
You should collect people you know in various places, Acquaintances, Friends, Friendly Experts. You can always ask them for Information !
It might be nice to own a Renoir Painting ! But if you get laid off or fired; it will be better to have somebody you know who can point you to a new job or give you a Recommendation, so somebody will Hire you ! The Renoir painting can't do that !
Magnificent Example: I didn't know any Foreign Singers and only knew the ones we had in the states; such as Britney Spears ( and I Love Britney and would have proposed to her if I ever had been around her ) But somehow somebody has gotten her messed up today, so that she is always taking her clothes off on the media ( but just enough to stay legal; so she should stop that ! ) But I digress again !
Anyway I didn't know any foreign singers; being as you may surmise a foolish american ! But at one point in the international difficulties; a friend sent me a link to NENA's "99 Red Balloons" ! I had never heard of her ! So I begain playing all NENA; even though I didn't understand a word of German ! I was playing all of her songs !
And off to the side one day I saw a video of Alizee singing ! I thought that was a pretty good name for a French Girl singer ( what did I know ? Ha ! ) and so I started to play her and fell in Love with her completely !
And so I owe it all to my one friend who has given me much pleasure with Alizee all these years ! And I don't think he even knows I discovered Alizee through him ? !
But this shows that a friend can help you in may ways !

So the main point in life is to collect people that you know or better yet friends that can give you information ! After you become successful and have an abundance in resources; then you can collect things later !

I agree wholeheartedly. I concern myself with material things, only insofar as I must have them to live my life - far too many people put too great a value on material goods. They may be necessary for daily life, but they are not necessarily good for the spirit - experiences and friendships are vital for the spirit!

Of course, as you mention, Alizée’s wonderful music is also good for the spirit. I am thankful for my grandfather, who introduced me to her, many years ago. In terms of other foreign music, I’m also partial to Nena, Mylène (of course), Chayanne (Spanish singer) and some Japanese jazz bands (T-Square, Casiopea, etc).

As for my stocks, I’ve been having some success with an interesting ETF, ticker NANC. It seeks to mirror Nancy Pelosi’s (former US speaker of the house) trading strategies - and it is doing quite well. Arguably, she has access to insider information, which is part of her success - but I won’t argue with what works.

Yes It is Funny that some people have come up with an ETF that Mirrors Pelosi's stock buys and sells; as she gets the briefings in congress before we do !
The only stocks I have noticed lately are META Which Zucherburg is making money off of ( I guess he sells people's information from it who subscribe to it ? I don't as I try to stay away from the social media ! ) I do have 2 shares I bought sometime I forget when; but it is seemingly overpriced at about $580. It does pay a nice dividend of 50 cents though and it is going up now ?
Another stock starting to go up is Buffett's favorite OXY which is in the green lately and pays a dividend of 22 cents, I think. I haven't bought any of it because it was down for a while !
The rest of the stocks are either down or I haven't had time to go over them !
I am trying to accumulate some cash; so I am not buying anything right now !
