A few years ago I restored an old Vespa that had been owned by a farmer. At some point in the scooter's life the farmer--in a misguided effort to repair the machine--re-routed the control cables so that they all ran on the outside of the scooter body. The rusty-but-beautiful vintage Vespa looked like Borgs had "assimilated" it. Thus I named this scooter, "Borgbike." I kept the handle for myself.

yes moi lolita was in the top ten as i recall but cannot remeber the exact place and Alizee was so happy about it i could almost see her teeth at that moment.

Yeah, I believe it was 9th in the British charts according to wiki...

Maybe if more singles or even one of her albums was released into the charts and did well, it may of raised higher waves but there was no real publicity. I mean from what I remember there wasn't any particularly good interviews, for example passengers wasn't something big.

Yeah it did enter the chart at 9th place in February 2002 (not 2001 as mentioned earlier). Great success considering it was all in French, and that is not popular in our fickle music charts. Anyway jus for your reference here is how well ML did in the UK.

17th Feb 2002: NEW ENTRY Mol Lolita 9th in charts
23rd Feb 2002 down to 15
3rd March 2002 down to 23
10th March 2002 down to 36
17th March 2002 down to 40

So yeah she did enjoy an extended stay in the UK charts, its a shame she was not in the english media spotlight more and that she has not visited these shores since then

Another reason for her difficulty in getting publicity, may be attributed to the difficulty in getting her video shown. It was considered to risqué due to its lolita subject matter, and therefore it was shown very restrictedly. In fact it was shown after the watershed (9pm).

For a new a music talent to break into the charts with this difficulty is hard! I'd better stop considering this is only an introduction thread. Oh well that lesson 1 on Moi Lolita success in England

Oh hehe I just realized I haven't even introduced myself on this thread yet! Hi everyone, my name is MiamMiam...and I'm an Alizéeholic! Sad as it is to admit it, I actually became hooked on her because I used to play world of warcraft, and well....if you don't know one of the races in the game has a very interesting dance lol, and well when discussing where the dances came from, Alizée's name came up, so I went to check out some of her videos. Being a girl, I was like "Oh this song is cute...nice dance I guess?" (referring to JEAM), but the song that actually got me liking Alizée was JPVA. Ever since I've discovered her videos on youtube, I've been listening to her non-stop and watching her videos.

Hi MiamMiam, I used to play WoW aswell but... it took its toll on my studies and well needless to say I had to stop. That game is evil... it has only one purpose, to "Siphon Life".
