So to summarize...
DRM AAC -> CD -> MP3 = LOSSY
DRM AAC -> CD -> FLAC = LOSSLESS100% the original AAC quality
DRM WMA -> CD -> MP3 = LOSSY
DRM WMA -> CD -> FLAC = LOSSLESS 100% the original WMA quality

( and there's no really need to do the CD phase... it can be replaced with many other methods to remove the DRM... but since you mentioned it, I used it... It's a valid option in some cases ).
OK, I concede defeat . I did not know that, I have heard from other sources that there was a loss of quality but they may have put a lossy format into the mix. Anyway, if jaco wants to convert to a non-DRM format using my crude method he now knows he has the option of lossless or not. It's always a pleasure to get my ass beat by RMJ .

Yeah...but those promo items are more for the hard-core collectors (especially given the moolah required to obtain them). A lot of them never even get opened or listened to. If you just want the CD-quality audio...well, it'll be here pretty soon.

Considering some of the bidded offerings in order to obtain them I can fully agree with you on that one, 'fsquared;' thirty five dollars minimum. Even the shipping charges are $ 21.25 to my PO Box.

I'll go ahead and list the sellers anyway, at least the hardcore buyers know how much they're willing to pay; they better hurry though, it looks like some of the items are only on the board for another twelve to fifteen hours:

Maybe they can frame them or something and place them on their wall.

That's also the way to strip Apple's DRM off of Itunes purchased songs. Use Itunes to burn a CD with whatever songs you want and then use a program like CDex (free) to convert to MP3s. Of course, this is only legal for purchased songs and your own use. If you want to try this way and need help just PM me.
Thanks for the response lowbeam. The thing is that I actually refuse to buy DRM'ed music out of principle. I guess I'll have to wait until the CD comes out.

Jaco I understand, DRM irritates me also. Itunes does have an Itunes Plus section with DRM free music but your email address is encoded in the songs so they can be traced. It not a big deal but it's a way of treating their customers like criminals - not to be trusted.

I hate buying a CD to get the one song I like so I use Itunes but I do respect your stand. Alizée is one of the few artists that I can listen and enjoy every song on every CD.

One might get a break on shipping on multiple teeny items like that. On the other hand, some of those have been bid on so there's no telling what you'd have to pay to actually get them. Like Cooney said, it sounded like they were going for close to $100 each. Ow....
