MCE Launch?

Was anyone here already a fan back before MCE Launched?

I'm very curious how the launch went. Was there any drama at all around it? (Examples would be some of the debates people have been having recently): Any leaked songs, was it heavily advertised, was her new image kept secret up until her first performance/video, ect.

I'm well aware this is all irrelevant to what is going on now, because she is calling most of the shots herself instead of Mylene, and she has a new record company and so on. This is just something I'm curious about. Was the launch completely smooth?

Yeah, I was.

It was delayed. That's dramatic enough.

I think the official explanation given for the delay was the inclusion of the English-language songs.

hey I just thought of something: maybe Alizée isn't all that different from myself after all, maybe she procrastinates!

Although this is highly unlikely for MCE under Mylene, I feel like she has just 'taken it easy' these past few years/months. Why was the release date pushed from Nov to Dec?, did she not finish something on time?

I don't mean to be so critical, just thinking...

I think in this case, it is most plausible that RCA doesn't want to compete with the launch of Lorie's and Kylie Minogue's albums on Nov. 26th.

Well I was already a fan back then but I didn't visit forums too much back then.
I got all my news from Alizée's official website { which was updated and changed for her second album but I can't quite remember the exact date } and other fan websites.
I still remember listening to all the little snippets on her website of the songs on her new album, I think it was in the discography section . The first time I saw the JEAM video was on Alizée's website, it was a small screen vid but I still couldn't get enough of it.

There definitely wasn't any leaked songs but there were some false rumours about what the name of her first single was going to be called on some forum that I browsed occasionally.
Her new image wasn't really kept secret because of her website. When the JEAM TV performances came it was a phenomenal time, what a treat!

You would've never believed how different her dancing was and the stage costumes were compared to the music video clip. I really luv the way she danced in those JEAM performances, amazing!!!

As for advertising there was a couple of little adverts on tv but i saw them afterwards on the net as I don't live in France.

The release in France of MCE was quite a big thing, I even remember some Frenchies getting the album a week before me and at the time I was pretty jealous.

Like I said, the release in France of MCE was quite a big thing and there was a huge display set out of Alizée's MCE cd's in HMV and French fans got there's at midnight. I don't think I've ever seen that for any other artist, then again I haven't really waited for any other album the way I have for Alizée's.

Anyway the leaking thing would probably the biggest difference between back then and now.

Well Alizée did also have her website updated back then too but now we have her Myspace aswell and that shows how the times have changed.

We will have pics and vids on her new website again for sure, these are just the embryonic stages that we are
experiencing.

If this were an Alizee website from France..and they announced a midnight release of her new album on Dec. 3..How many of us would actually line up at a location that had her album available at midnight? **Raises hand**

The only time i did a lineup in the middle of the night to get a product was for Warcraft 3. Back then, that release was a huge deal! The store i went to had a the ENTIRE development team at the store...about 20 pple...and they were there to sign a limited edition release W3.

NOW..if Alizee were to appear at a midnight release....and we found about it here..some of use would probably pack a suitcase and jet over to Europe!
