One thing we all really like about Alizee is that it seems she's still down-to-earth people.

Ok, I haven't read all the responses, I've been a bit busy, so if I'm mirroring other's (which I am sure I am), sorry.

But, in my opinion, I am quite glad she is married and has a child. After I got over the initial devastation that she was married, and to a goofball like Jeremy , I realised it was what I should have hoped for her all along. She is well out of my league, for a number of reasons, which I won't get into, and from that perspective it would be selfish of me to wish she was single. The best thing to want for her is that she be happy, and how could she not be happy when she has everything she wants in life. A loving, supportive family, a great career, and thousands of adoring fans.
So in short, I don't wish she was single, quite the opposite invfact, I am glad she has found the love of her life, and support her fully in it.

You are entirely correct. Among celebrities in the USA, the vast majority fear being "normal." To them, being normal is being boring, and being boring means they lose their status. It is extremely rare here to find a celebrity who is the same on the outside as on the inside.

That's something a large number of we American fans love about Alizée. We're sick of the fake personalities and artificial facades of people here. We love the idea that somebody can simply be honest, natural, and themself, and be that successful.

Mecca: Islamic holy city, in Saudi Arabia.

In the states, we'll use the name to refer to any sort of desirable place or important location for a field.

For example: Las Vegas is Mecca for tourists, Seattle is Mecca for cancer reasearch, Ajaccio is Mecca for Alizée Fans.

i could of sworn Seattle is a mecca for people who want to get rained on or at least misted on 300 days out of the year.

fyi, Jacksonville is a mecca for people who want to experience a 30 day winter.

and it only get 50 degrees F here in the winter.

is it derived from the same meaning?
cause if it was, Mecca is a really poor spelling for it IMO.
