At least on her newest album you know her voice isn't covered up by ... computers. I don't know how to say... umm distorted maybe.

I think being out of circulation for 3 years doesn’t help. If she had been working and performing in public for the last 3 years, she would have 3 more years of professional experience under her belt. I’m not questioning her decision to do that, I’m just saying that she has to be prepared for the consequences that go along with that decision. I think she will get herself back up to speed. It's a daunting task to make it in the music business, but she has the raw talent, the desire and a quality that just draws people to her. |

hello from France
well I've just discovered this forum and thought I would share my opinion. I didn't see ALizée's performance at star academy , all I know is that even some of our biggest stars sometimes messed because of what we call " le trac" ( stress) , they have to sing with amateurs in front of millions of people , probably have to remember which turn it is to sing that sentence etc etc so I guess she was not at ease , especially after this long absence.
Moi Lolita and J'en ai marre are a bit old now and I can' get enough of them , so catchy. Mylene Farmer's lyrics are great, even if they're not easy to udnerstand even for a French like me, it's full of "double entendre" and words that are not supposed to be used this way, like amours diluviennes , well it's poetry , she loves Baudelaire, Rimbaud and Poe.. For all this I just love Alizée. Really curious to know how some American people discovered her take care Philippe |

I didn't like Mon Maquis at first, but I've loved it for a while now. It's a much better style of rap than Gwen's.
Philippe, welcome to Alizée America!
