Alizee's bad performance - just a hoax?

Yeah, but that is one of her "old" star academy preformances...
I think the other guys means the newer one with MJ on Star academy.
But you got a point there Simon, that first Star academy preformance(with Alizee) was truly amazing, I think it was the best "live" preformance ever, other than En Concert ofcourse

I'm gonna be honest hear and tell you the truth. I think that you can bs all you want (and by bs i mean nothing offensive), but the truth to me at least, is that alizee's bad performance was primarily her fault. While I agree she would have been better with proper controls and singers, as well as the effect that dancing has on a voice, I still think that this is her fault mostly. Don't get me wrong, I've heard alizee in concert, and her voice is amazing. It has this certain "cute" quality to it thats unique to her. Im not saying she cant sing, cuz baby can she sing! I just think we caught her on a bad day with some altercations that minorly impacted her performance.

By the way I liked lucie on star academy, she was my favorite

I have to agree on this one.
The performance on star academy was a real ear strain.
I didn't even watch the full performance because that Maureen lady was really bad.

Anyway, Alizee is growing and well you know the story how your body changes, and thats probably same with her voice.

About 2 years ago I had a way different pitch in my voice than I do now( that's why I don't sing) and wouldn't be suprised if that has happend to all of you sometime in your life.

I agree with you to some extent. I suspect that she had not practiced with the same intensity she did when she was with Mylene. The long break didn't help. That part is her fault. However, I believe there were technical difficulties with her monitoring system which I can say from my own experience can have a disastrous effect on anyone's performance. I point to the late start which tells me she couldn’t hear the count in. If she couldn’t hear the count in, she couldn’t hear anything, especially her much needed reference to pitch. To me, that was the biggest problem and was the responsibility of the sound engineers.

A good sound manager vs a bad one can be the difference between the greatest show of your life and a forgetful experience. It is quite apparent, to me, that the sound equipment in this song is absolutely terrible. You literally cannot hear Alizée from her own sound channel.

Would better production have made this performance perfect? Doubtful, but it would have made it exponentially better.

Alicia Keys singing on that same show with Maureen was so much better too But even Maureen was quite a bit better singing with Alicia then she did with Alizee so I don't think you can blame Alizee for the subpar performance. There was something strange, also I don't think the song helped
