I was 5 feet from death

I almost died today, if I would have gotten off my bus 5 seconds early and made the light to cross the street there is no doubt in my mind I wouldn't be talking to you guys right now. As I was crossing the street and nearing the corner a truck was making a turn about 5 feet in front of me. The 18 wheeler jackknifes and flips over right in-front of me. If I was 5 feet closer I would be crushed underneath its trailer. Luckily no one was hurt including the driver who got out without a scratch.

I took this picture right after I called 911. This was about 5 minutes after it happened, I was the only one there when it happened until everyone came out to watch and ask if I and the driver was ok. About 2-3 minutes later the NYPD came (very fast for them assuming I practically just called them) and than 1 minute after the NYPD the FDNY came; about 3 fire trucks came. There was like a whole platoon of rescue workers that came.


The driver is the guy sitting in the black shirt in the right hand corner, as you can see hes ok, but very shooken up, I dont blame him.

this happened at 3pm, its now 7pm. I'm going to go down there to see if they have it cleaned up, if its not I'm going to take a few pics

EDIT: juast got back and whoa they have it cleaned up already. Wow they worked quick.

You would thinks so, but no; I was quiet and calm. I just kept thinking the whole time how I just missed this by like a few feet.
Yeah im glad no one got hurt too, the reason the driver was ok was because his cabin never hit the floor nor took much damage. Only his trailer did. So he just climbed out of his truck through the left (drivers side) door. The only notice damage on the cabin part of his truck was the front fender was falling off a bit towards the left side, probably from the impact of the thing hitting the floor.
