I can't believe this was so deep in the forum and only three months passed. National average for Regular: $2.954. Month ago: $3.807 That's pretty much what I see. I like the drop. Less hesitation to take another trip for something. How 'bout you guys? Do you feel like you're paying half than before? ... "Now, you know, here's something I don't understand. Explain this to me. Oil prices have dropped over 50% in the last couple months, correct? It's gone from 150 a barrel to just under 69 dollars a barrel. So how can oil be 69 dollars a barrel, I filled up my car yesterday, it was 83 bucks, ok. I know I didn't use a whole barrel, ok. How does this work? Where am I making my mistake?" - Jay Leno, Friday's monologue. |

The only problem with oil price going down (at least for my area) is that a lot of the companies will stop drilling in certain places. Trust me having oil companies drilling even within two hours of your local town really boosts economy cause all of the roughnecks come into town and spend a lot of money I've been there down that not to mention all the people that own the mineral right for the land that they drill become almost instant millionaires
right now its at the border line to when they will stop drilling around here cause once it gets below $60 a barrel it will be costing them more to drill the sites than they get out of it and they will stop and to Leno's comment thats just the cost of the oil it self and not the refining process too lower Gas prices are nice though |

I agree with everything you said.
When I heard Leno say that, I thought the same thing, but then again, the revenue and expenses are not neck and neck. |

^no the revenue and expenses never will be again people are already willing to spend the $3+ to buy their gas why would the people selling the gas sell it for less then they are a business just as much as any other one and they are there to make money and lots of time they exploit the people buying it

Right, right, I understand that, it's business. Though I don't think people are willing to buy. More like have to. But it's different for everybody. It all depends. Some people can't just switch to carpooling. Or public transportation. Changing transportation means changing your lifestyle. For some, that's too big of a change, especially for those who live too far from work.
