What a strange feeling.
I have known Madonna since she became popular, and over the years I have encountered her work many times whether I heard her song on the radio or watched some of her videos on TV or even before she was often in the newspapers. You may like her work or not but the fact is that she is a world-class superstar. Despite all that, when I watch that TV show dedicated to her, I feel like Madonna is a guest on a show dedicated to Alizee.

Indeed. Fact is, Alizée's performance of La Isla Bonita on that show has been watched over 200 million times, while the rest of that show is hardly known, despite Madonna herself performing multiple of her songs on that same stage and being interviewed in it.

The writer of the song came out and said it was about a woman who had drug problems and if I remembered the story right, she killed herself, but he never gave a a name and at the time, Alizee was not being talked about very kindly by MF fans. I think Mylene Farmer international was the big fan site for her back then though like Alizee, she probably had several.
