Watched the '30 days of night' sequel last night.
It was pretty good for a straight to DVD movie.
Enjoyed it.

Is it just me or are American horror movies never scary? In fact, most of them are kinda funny.

It's still weird for me to see Jamie Lee Curtis play anything but an old, manly momish type character, so Halloween is always fun to watch in that regard: we get to see her as a teen!

I remember watching it in the cinema when it was first released.
Makes me fell really old!

Ratatouille, again.

I don't watch it because it's in France (like fucking weeaboos watching anime), I just like animation, artistic style, etc.

It also taught me a new recipe, which is PURTY SWEET

Had a nostalgia fest recently:

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/MODq81_cDKI?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/MODq81_cDKI?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

"Briiight eeeeyyyes, buurning like fiiirrrrre.." -sniffle-

I have found over the years that no matter how sleek and shiny these new 3-D CGI kid's movies look, there is absolutely nothing that compares to the love, time, and detail put into hand-drawn films.

Oh hell yeah. I've said that many times before.

Hollywood cannot nor has ever had any actually scary horror movies. I feel pretty confident in saying this because I've seen nearly all the horror movies out there(Recent ones, from the 80s to now). Sure, they've made "classics" like the Exorcist, Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm Street, but none of them are actually scary. American horror movies have a very simple tool box: sex and nudity, mundane amounts of excessive gore, cheap and retarded jump scares, and copying foreign horror films. They've copied The Ring, The Grudge, One Missed Call, The Uninvited, Quarantine, and so many more.

If you want a good horror movie, you got to foreign. Especially Japanese!

I think the scariest American movie I've seen is Mean Girls.

I watch and realize "THERE ARE GIRLS ACTUALLY LIKE THAT??"

THE HORROR!

Edit:

Just finished watching a documentary called "The Science of Sex Appeal"

Pretty interesting stuff, I'd love to show it to all the poets out there.

"... as she detected the scent of destiny, her heart knew it had found it's mate"
"Nope. First of all, your heart is a muscle that pumps blood, and biologically is as romantic as your large intestines. Second, what she detected was a suitable mate as she was ovulating and her animal instincts responded to the male's pheromones and deduced that his genes were suitable enough to create a successful offspring."
"but-"
"Butts, specifically the females, are ideally 1.4 times the size of the waist, and vice versa with the waist being .7 times the size of the hips. The ancient Greeks were the first to apply a mathematical equation to the concept of 'beauty', but this ratio has been present far longer, spanning back to simple African fertility carvings."

I find when I have homework due, I pay a lot more attention to the documentaries I watch to procrastinate. If I'm going to not learn one thing, I might as well learn another.
