Cool report thanks. That part about waiting in line reminds me of the last time I went to the Les Enfoirés concert. Like you said, 7 hours waiting on the gravel and then a few hours standing amongst a bunch of other warm blooded people. The first night we went people were passing out left and right, and having to be carried away. That would really suck. People got there so early, got up front, then got too hot, passed out and had to leave semi-conscious only part way through the show. And they would not allow us to take in closed containers of water either. Though, everyone had camera's up for that show, recording video of everything.

Currently on tour, Mylène Farmer will release a new DVD, with her concert at Lyon on June 12, 13 & 15 & also, after her concerts at Paris' Stade De France, a second one, special, with only 3D, seen with a pair of 3D glasses.

Director François Hanss, who had already directed the video for "Je Te Rends Ton Amour" & the videos for Mylenium Tour & Avant Que L'Ombre... À Bercy, shot the images for the first DVD. We don't know if he will shot the images for the Stade De France...

September 19th was the last concert and from what I heard last year, Mylène is done. I suppose she will not completely retire, but she said that her singing career is done. I suppose she was thinking about nearing the end when she started up with Alizée. Perhaps she thought Alizée to be the child of her art, to take over the mantle. Oh well, children do not always follow in their parents footsteps.

Though, this article says something about a concert in 2011 to celebrate her 50th birthday. It's too bad I never became a Mylène fan way back when. She seems to be quite the entertainer. Some of the mood of her songs I don't care for, but she has remained quite glamorous for one thing, as one can see from even this one photo in the article. She has some really good taste in clothing. Of course, not being able to get up close in a concert, it's not the same. And, I have the idea that it would be difficult to get up close in a huge 40,000 person concert. The awesomeness of her concerts, as I understand it, is what draws those crowds though. It's a good lesson for the industry.

wow, I'm late to this party... Unfortunately I have my american counterparts to blame in a way: like the way I thought alizee would be some over exposed attention whore ala britany/christina/lohan, I thought Mylene was an aging entertainer whose videos scream "mid life crisis ala Madonna. Boy was I wrong about both! Both are such class act.. what happened to my country.. everything seems to be about exploitation.... not art.

Anyway, enough of my ranting.. I found a couple of vids of Mylene's recent concert. Crappy sound and video.. and yet I was so moved!!!!

in this one, you get to see the wide angle.. what a spectacle!!! Its actualy nice to se a performance thats not constantly borken up by quick editing. Twice the age of Alize and look at her move!!!

what amazes me is the theatrical and poetic & provocative quality of the work while here folks like madona seem like glossed up sleaze... really I think its the difference of having taste or not.

amazing what alizee and mylene have in common: both were shy introverts and both seem to have a lot of stuffed animals sacrificed to them in their concerts!

And in the last one, that's a curtain of real water falling down across the stage between Mylene and the audience. I love how they project her image onto it.
