And I agree with BlackAnthem, most of those pics I wouldn't have been able to tell it was Alizee if not informed that it was her. That photoshoot was totally out of left field. I'm not saying it was bad... on the contrary, I loved it. It's just she has *seemed* to have tried really hard over the past few years to tone down the sexy image. Those pics were very sexy. Sideboob and exposed torso is not something she has done recently. Anyway, very nice shots. Alizee makes a great glam model.

So Aaron, you think it's a little vulgar? I kinda agree. Isn't it Azhiri's sig that says "...anything can be sexy except vulgarity..."?

I completely disagree that those photos are "vulgar."

But you understand where I coming from on the subject. I don't 100% agree they are vulgar either. But you may recall other celebrity controversy when they did shoots like these?
And I do LOVE THE PICTURES!

Here's my take on all this. We have a poor way of handling sexuality in this country. On the one hand, American popular culture is hyper-sexed, with often-gratuitous sexuality inserted into everything whether it makes any sense or not. On the other, there remains an undercurrent of puritanism that seems to enjoy being shocked by all this. That puritanical subculture tends to regard anything sexual as "vulgar." But that's not what "vulgar" means at all, not to me anyway. Vulgarity is the difference between erotica and pornography. It's a blatant in-your-face presentation of raw, crude sexuality without nuance and, for me, without much appeal. That is, I would never respond well to a woman who approached me in a vulgar way. But none of these photos crosses that line or even comes close. The sexiest photo in the series (in my opinion) is the one where Alizée is in the leather jacket with nothing underneath, and the jacket is hanging open, so that it looks as if one could reach out and open it up to reveal her breasts. Now, she could have made a "vulgar" picture if she were standing holding the jacket wide open, nipples thrust forward, one hand under one breast and her tongue hanging out as if licking her own nipple. That would be gross, crude, and disgusting. But that's not what she did. As it is, the photo isn't vulgar at all, it's just terribly sexy. Very often, Americans don't seem to understand how to tell the difference.
