why is alizée so popular in the USA? I can understand that canadians know her because she's linked to mylène farmer but I thought us ppl were more into r n'b stuff or b spears
I think many us ppl would be unable to locate corsica on a world map
actually how did you discover her out there?

Believe it or not i did not even know who mylène farmer was till i found Alizée and read her story!

US popular music is quite varied. Rap, r n' b, pop, rock, and easy listening/contemporary stuff.

However, I wouldn't go so far as to say she's popular over here. We're a very small minority. If you asked a random person who Alizee was, odds are they wouldn't know. The majority of people over here who even do know have probably just seen her as a pretty girl in a picture on the internet. Most of us, myself included, discovered her purely by chance or coincidence, and we all come from varied musical backgrounds.

Me too. I found Alizée first. I don't know about other people, but I have always known where Corsica is and I think its name in commonly known in the USA, probably because of Napoleon. I didn't know many details about the island, though.
