This guy was the inventor of the game of basketball (James Naismith). He invented the game in 1891 to keep athletes in shape during winters.
In the picture below, he is introducing the game to his wife. Don't laugh, a year later she won a slam dunk contest with a perfect double clutch dunk! What decade was this picture taken? Clue: he died in 1939 at the age of 78. |
