Though I did some more searching on Olivier on this forum and found your post as well as this one from RMJ back in 2007, about an interview she did: Quote:

Are you saying she's a liar?

I'm not saying she's a liar, I'm saying that if that's what it takes to get people off her back and away from her private life, I wouldn't blame her if she were to do so. We know she's fiercely protective of her private life, so I wouldn't pass judgment on her for saying that to a reporter.

Right, as in there exists the possibility that she's lying (and while not clearly stated in my post, I meant strictly in this instance.) Just to clarify, I'm saying that hey, if she was lying to this reporter about not dating her manager in order to get people to stop asking questions, I'd call it fair play. I believe it would be harmless if she made that call. There is no evidence of her having lied about this or any other thing, as far as I'm aware, so all the more reason to give her a pass on it in the event that she did.

Do you seriously think that Alizee could never lie about something in an interview?
Of course Alizee is capable of lying in an interview. Last edited by Mr Coucou; 06-01-2020 at 03:08 AM.. |

So you too are calling her a liar?

I think we need to take Alizee at her word, unless there is evidence to the contrary.
She offered up the information on her relationship (or lack of) with Olivier in reference to the gossip column in Voici. Why would she do that? It must have been very important to her to clear the air. She might have had a boyfriend at that time who was not Olivier, and when the gossip spread around about Olivier, made her look like a cheater. It could have been the other way around too, with Olivier having a girlfriend who was not Alizee and he was in hot water because of it. Since it was brought up, that interview she did where she discusses her "coming of age", I thought it was very much out of character for a very private Alizee. Maybe it's because it is France, but asking a minor about her sex life and publishing it is wrong on so many levels. I felt that Alizee might have been coached by Mylene to make this "confession" to promote her Lolita image. Could a naive Alizee be talked into making a confession about something that wasn't fact? |

Alizee, even at age 15, was unafraid to perform in front of thousands of people. So, in theory, why would she be afraid of disclosing a simple fact about herself in an interview? (I assume the interview in question was a print interview--- because I think she would be too self-conscious to make such a statement on TV with her body language and facial expression under public observation.) (Speaking of this interview, does anyone have a link for it? I can't recall if I've read it or not.) I would tend to think that the 'coming of age' remark is the truth, that she meant it and that she wasn't under pressure from Mylene to say it. It was like a simple statement of fact, no more no less. Last edited by Mr Coucou; 06-01-2020 at 11:12 PM.. |
