So I doubt it, but are there any direct connections between the restaurant and our Alizée? The only reason I ask is that the feminine spelling of Alizée, to my knowledge of fairly novel; the tradewind for which Alizée is named (and a certain cognac-based liqueur) is masculine, spelled Alizé. So did the namers of the restaurant simply do the same thing Alizée's parents did and feminize, Alizé; or the name somehow connected with her?

What do you think? Is this an idea they get from her succes?

I mean, "alizee" does mean something in US, aside our princess ?

I wouldn't have thought it meant anything. I doubt most Americans can accurately pronounce it. Maybe it was inspired by our Alizee.

It's catchy name, with French connotations, imagine the situation:
"-Remember that restaurant where we were... that with some French accent?
-ah yes, Alizée; interesting name, don't you think?
-yes, I'm curious, what it could mean; I'll have to check it"

And probably they were inspired by our Alizée, I think.

I would say "alizee" doesn't mean anything to Americans unless they know our princess or this restaurant.

You may not know this, but there is a rapper from New Orleans that used the name "Alizée". When I search American CD stores online for Alizée sometimes both of their music used to come up listed together. I doubt hardly anyone knows who the American Alizée is, and I'm sure the French Alizée is much better known.

I noticed that the American Alizée now goes by the name "Allie". My guess is she was totally buried by the popularity of the French Alizée. Check out this page at the American Amazon.com here

Read the comments made by Americans at the bottom of the page.

You can check out her myspace page here: http://www.myspace.com/ALIZEEBOSS

@Bigdan, I thought Alizée bought her name back from Mylene for 1 euro...
