I should probably mention that I'm a teacher and I've also been playing Alizée at school. I don't teach French or anything, so I haven't had a great excuse to play Alizée during class, but I do tend to play Alizée before school and sometimes in between classes as students are just arriving and passing between classes (8th graders if you're wondering). Some of the students have given her a very positive response while some of the less, shall we say, "tasteful" boys say they don't like her... ah I have to be careful what I say here about them since I have given out this site to some of the more interested students. Anyway, while I was subbing at the local high school I informed the French teacher there about Alizée and she seemed like she might play her in class... I haven't gotten back to her yet to see if she has or not.

Nothing wrong with finding Alizee attractive. I mean thats how I discovered her on Google top 100 with the "shake" video. After that I wanted to find out more about her and when I heard "moi lotita" I wanted more(music that is LOL)
If I would have heard the music alone...I dont know. I might have passed on it. |

I own several CDs, but Alizee's are my favs and I treat them like expensive jewelry. Got them on display standing up so I can see her when I listen. |

Well I had the booklet for the Gourmandises album in mind. There are several "safe" pictures there, if you know what I mean

What was happening is I kept looking into her eyes in the vid. And I was thinking, hey, she seems all right. I think this is someone I could respect. Also, you know, that music is pretty good, and damn! What a voice she has! It's deeper than usual, I like that. (Didn't discover the range until later.) And what's that with the waving hands behind the ass, wait, that's a fish there on her right cheek, I get it, that's a fish-tail she's making, wow, wonder what that means, wish I could understand the lyrics. (I actually did know the words "poisson rouge" but didn't hear them properly or recognize them.) I think your mind has to be totally in the gutter to see an Alizée vid and think of nothing but sex. The sexuality is certainly there, don't get me wrong, but there's so much more going on that a man has to have only one functioning head not to see it. |

Let's face it, having the face of a goddess, the perfect figure, her smile, and those eyes! is the way to get the attention when you want to attract someone to what you are doing. It works every time. However, I don't find anything dirty, sleazy, or perverse in Alizée's dance routines. And to look at her, you don't see the sleazy things that Brittany Spears and others have portrayed.
What I see is a wholesome, completely perfect woman with the face of an angel and the sweetest, cleanest performance and dance moves that go with her music. There is nothing sleazy about it. Sexy? Oh yes but nothing dirty or perverse at all. Is she someone we would love to be with as a girlfriend or wife? Hell yeh! But when I look at the videos, I have no "evil" thoughts. She just doesn't portray that image, to me. Those who do have the perverse thoughts aren't really fans, more like window shoppers looking for a thrill, then they move on to the next big thrill. But then, they probably wouldn't like the fact that Alizée sings mostly in French, since they wouldn't take the time to understand what she is singing anyway, or the fact that Alizée might not be "hard core" enough for their tastes. Piss on 'em, I say. (wink, wink) Last edited by C-4; 03-21-2007 at 02:47 PM.. |
