Hey Shaylee, if you haven't done it already, could you tell us how you found out about Alizée in this thread?

There are so many intangibles that make Alizee unique. It's much more than a haircut and some dance moves and a decent singing voice.
The Russian (?) girl is very pretty and she sings the song very sexy, but will I remember it in the morning? No. Alizee, from my very first view of JEM, had made such an impression on me,l I just don't see how it would ever be matched. My opinion only |

You can't let stuff like that bother you. There's too many people out there who have nothing better to do than to try and stomp on other people's feelings.

In no way I'm not trying to copy the personality of Alizée, I am a fan of Lolita and music from the same times. Alizée herself interests me much less.
This is just my hobby and I like to reflect on the stories what made by Mylene, perform them in my own understanding. Thus, trying on other people's feelings on myself, I am looking for myself in what I'm really like, trusting my heart, which will show me where is the right way. |

Welcome to the forum.
It doesn't matter if you're a fan of things related to Alizee, but not really interested in Alizee herself. We have off topic discussions about things all the time. So from trying to figure out what you are saying, I think you are interested in the character Alizee portrays in Moi Lolita, but again, not the singer who portrays her? Of course the character portrayed in the song and the video was based on a book and it sounds like you are a young lady who is wondering if she should follow the same path? |

Thank you, Scruffydog777 ...
The Lolita character is the only thing that may interest me in Alizée. Maybe, I making a mistake with this opinion. We can not talk about any choices because this is just my hobby. The "Lolita's path" is not so clear to me... Possible interesting, but no, I have my own way. |

Hello autumn.leaves. Alizee was a lolita, but not the only lolita as far as France goes. Past lolitas include Mylene Farmer herself, and Vanessa Paradis. The newest one is Julia. The word is also a pretty popular female first name of Spanish origin.
I would say that its current usage is more of a label than a "path", and it's not clearly defined. Mylene created Alizee as a lolita from her own ideas, and it's obvious she picked the perfect girl. The song Moi Lolita introduced her as one to the audience, and they bought it. If it was anybody else, it might have been a dismal failure. I believe the success of Alizee as a lolita was because of Alizee, not because of brilliant songwriting, even though the good music helped. |

We have a small, friendly community here and we like to keep it that way. Posts like this that insult other members are not tolerated and can lead to banning. I suggest you read the Forum Rules to be reminded of proper forum etiquette, and we can then start over again.
I am pretty sure I know what kind of discussion you are wanting to have, and probably nobody on this site would be willing to engage you in it to the level that you are wanting. |
