Go to any forum in the world, pose a question ultimately rooted in the anthropological, genetic, and hormonal interaction between the sexes, and the members will eventually pull up those roots in unimaginable ways. And if the forum includes a green ogre, he'll not only pull up the roots, but will likely find those roots quite tasty.

En Concert DVD in NTSC ?
Has anyone ever heard of a version of the EnConcert DVD for NTSC players ? I've got the PAL DVD and it "plays" on two players I have. However, both players only output NTSC, so neither displays the whole PAL frame - in order to get down to NTSC resolution, the players crop and pan about 20% of the picture offscreen. I can get one player to show the full frame by telling it not to "letterbox", but then it squishes the 16:9 image into 4:3 and crops about 20% of the picture at the top and bottom (instead of left and right), and everyone gets very skinny.
I've heard there's an fully NTSC compliant, remastered version of the DVD somewhere out in the digital world - probably not a legitimate effort or approved by anyone official - but I haven't found any evidence of it. Has anyone else heard of this thing, or am I imagining it ? |

The Mexican edition of En Concert is NTSC, but it has a lot less extra stuff than the regular European one.
The best idea is to watch the DVD on your computer. If that's inconvenient for some reason, you can rip the DVD and re-author it to NTSC, though that takes several hours. There are many bootleg En Concerts on eBay, they are generally NTSC.

Mexican DVD is the only official NTSC DVD.
And it's piece of shit. If you must have it... don't bother... unless you really want it... you can order it from Mexico's music stores. |
