Good song but nothing spectacular. I'm with scruffy in that one listening is probably all the time I would devote to it. But she is now co-writing her own songs, which is a positive step.

I cannot put a finger on it, but there is just something that Julia is missing. It's not in her looks or her singing ability - obviously she has both. She's missing a "hook", that special something that makes me want to see and hear more from her. Maybe it's the lack of stage presence? She just looks distant when she's singing with mechanical motions, like she is not enjoying herself.

Sorry if you find this all too critical but I'm just calling it the way I see it.

She's definetely beautiful and has an amazing voice, but I agree that she lacks charm and warmness that Alizée easily transmits when she's on stage.

I think I've said it before, but Alizée looks like a very welcoming person; a very warm, friendly and funny person. You could Google beautiful women, but they all seem kind of "stuck-up", stoic, too cold, more or less like this new singer. Someone else said that Alizée makes a lot of eye contact and I think he's right; her constant smiling and eye contact makes her seem like a very warm person, while at the same time, being beautiful, so who wouldn't fall for her .

I think the word "charisma" is the word I was looking for before, but "warmth" and "charm" are also applicable.

We've attempted to compare Alizee with Julia and it's unfair to Julia because the bar is set so high. I think in a way Julia being a protege of Mylene might have hurt Julia more than helped her early on because immediately fans started making comparisons, and I have to admit that I had done so myself.

This new song looks to be Julia's attempt to stand on her own two feet - I don't see Mylene's name anywhere. Alizee had a lot to lose when splitting from Mylene. Julia had very little to lose because she had mediocre success at best. Maybe nobody will even notice.

Being a solo artist is tough enough just producing music that people want to hear, but you have to connect to your audience. It's not a skill that is learned.

Last week was it, with her new song, I said I was one and done, but I listened to it a second time here and found it much more enjoyable. That often happens with new songs. I found that to be true even with some of Alizée songs.
