I've seen 12 year old kids dancing around at Yelle Concerts soooo..... and you can't say all of Alizee's songs are about flowers and playgrounds Last edited by jung_adore_ALIZEE; 10-15-2009 at 10:35 PM.. |

![]() HEY! Had a comment. Alizee's new album, whenever it may come out, will be a BIG DEAL for her. She'll go on talk shows, dance, party, dance at parties, dance on talk shows, and party on dance shows. But do any of you realize, while she is dancing and partying...SHE WON'T BE THINKING I HAVE TO GO TO AMERICA. I'm saying that she'll be busy doing whatever it is French super-stars do and not reading our letter.
Two choices: 1. Send it NOW. This will prevent conflict with the album and.....dancing. 2. Send it a few months, or even one year after album. No. So send it now! And hopefully the album wont come around all of a sudden and surprise us.

![]() Just a few points about the discussion above:
Yes, the idea of touring with Madonna is not serious. I didn't take it as serious when I read the letter. Alizée reading that would think, "Ha, in my dreams!" If it doesn't come off as humor, it should be cut. But there's nothing wrong with including a little humor. Alizée needs as much confidence-boosting as possible. She is shy, she is introverted, she does get stage fright, she often doesn't realize just how awesome she is, she's her own worst critic. When she first came back with the performances for Psych, she was HORRIBLE, and it was all through lack of confidence. America is the biggest music market in the world, and also a place she loves to visit. I can GUARANTEE you the first time she performs in the U.S., her heart will pound, her mouth will be dry, and she will have trouble breathing. So anything we say to communicate, Hey, we're just human here, you'll be OK, we should. If you think it should be reworded, feel free, but it should be said in some way or other. It almost doesn't matter what we say. The fact that we've taken the time to say it will mean everything to her. We shouldn't expect much of a public response, because she doesn't do that, as some have said above, and if she mentions it at all it will be more than I expect, but she WILL read it, and she WILL care. She always does. As to her English, she's not fluent but she's able to read English well enough. Translating it into French would be a nice gesture, though, and I would recommend that. But send it in English, too.

![]() Hi, Deep, got your signature, thanks!
Just tweeting in to say, yes, we'll send it very, very, very soon. Few more days to go. And yes, we'll send it bilingually. Back in a few, with a new mock-up. (Anyone else who still wants to send signatures, please hurry!) Deanej - I do like your idea about digital. It's a very good suggestion! So we'll see, only I'm not sure if it'll fit... ok, gottsta run fnow. |

![]() Yeah, I agree. Cut Madonna. I mean maybe, MAYBE, someone else. MAYBE.
In a crisis situation!

![]() I should add one more thing. We can be almost 100% certain that she's read it already. She does browse this forum, and a thread with a title like "Open Letter to Alizée" is going to shout "read me!" very loud.
![]() It occurred to me today as well that we might use a similar method, with a group letter, to petition radio stations, TV shows, etc. Just a thought.

![]() I took a stab at editing this letter myself and it's definitely not an easy thing to do. By no means do I think mine is "the one", but there might be some useful things that can be extracted from it. I eliminated the laundry list of suggestions because I think Alizée and her pro staff already know more about this stuff than us "amateurs".
![]() Edit: @Deep, you're the writer here. Would you be willing to take a stab at it?

![]() Actually, Lefty, you did a FANTASTIC job. I would make only one change.
"Many of our members are not just from the USA but also from countries from all over the world, including France!" I think this wording is a little clearer. Otherwise, I can't improve on it. Chuck should translate it himself, btw, not rely on on-line translators, or else get Toc De Mac to do it. If no one else will do it, I will, but either of those people's French is better than mine.

![]() not to be a downer, but I can be almost 100% certain she has not
