It is of course not a huge deal, but looks quite silly, and is just something that annoys me everytime I see it
Can you post link to that thread?

Quite often i go through old threads in the forum and enjoy reading the discussions, the different opinions, the pics...
Sometimes, when there is an interesting thread, i would save it as favourite and i would continue reading it the next day, specially when the thread is 30 or more pages long.
But very often i discover interesting facts that i think would need more exposure.

I could name a lot of examples...
For example, i did not know that Jessica from stars a domicile was a member of this forum and she post pics and experiences back at the time.
That is something that, like many examples, shows me how big and good this forum was and still is. But because things like that are so hidden between tons of threads, is not easy to find them.

To keep on with the same example:

Scruffy opens a thread wondering about how Jessica is doing.
Then, someone post a link to an older thread where there is info about Jessica's own website. When, now, i try to access, the site is down.
But thanks to the work that some member of this forum did at the time, the interesting info about her experience of meeting Alizée is not only saved but translated as well in its very own thread.

I have to say that in nearly all the cases the mods did a good job and all the relevant info and links are in the first page. The problem is that the threads are of course quite deep themselves!

So my suggestion is to have, when the time is right, a little summary, a "hall of fame" or something like that with relevant or interesting threads that are part of AAm history.
I know this is the tipical idea that maybe sounds good but at the end is not that easy to make it possible.
I hope that al least all this is good to remember that there are awesome info in a lot of old threads that new members should take a look at from time to time!

The Jessica story was really a great story. The first SAD show was a good one too, but with Julia, she seemed happy, but she wasn't bowled over the way Jessica was. The great part of the first show was to see Alizee's reaction after they showed what happened the day of the party. It was moments like that one which gave you a glimpse of what a wonderful person inside Alizee appears to be.

Of course that second show was so great. Two wonderful girls meeting. Wouldn't you like to be able to bring into someone's life who is close to you, as much happiness Alizee brought into Jessica's world that day? I knew when I first watched the show that Jessica was going to cry when they parted. If she was that happy to see her, it had to crush her seeing her leave, even if she knew she would meet her again, but I don't believe she did know at that point.

That's a good idea about a history section. Cant say for sure what others will think, but if mods in here like it, I think it'll get done. One tough part is so many members who were here in the early years are gone, so I don't think there are many active members who know a lot about what went on back then, but the threads are still there; all it will take is some research.

Something similar to this was suggested before: http://alizeeamerica.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6082

It seems to me your idea of a "Hall of Fame" or "Best of" thread would be a good idea. There certainly are a few gems that deserve to be seen. We could "sticky" it so it would always be visible. I would recommend that both members and mods could post links in the thread with a brief description. So when people are browsing around and discover threads that merit special acknowledgement, they can bring them to everybody's attention. To avoid clutter, we could keep discussion in the thread to a minimum. Otherwise, it could become too long and therefore defeat its own purpose.

I would like to involve all members in such an effort. It would take way too much time for 1 or 2 mods to search over this whole site alone.

Anyone else interested in this? Any more suggestions?

That is very interesting. And it proves my point that maybe this is a good idea but not easy to get done... As i see it, there would be two ways of doing this.

1. The simple way: A few threads are chosen, maybe no more than ten. These threads can be presented in a sticky as "a taste of what you can find in our forum, Alizée America", and they would be aimed in particular to new members of the forum or new Alizée fans. So in that base i suppose there should be at least some mention to JEAM and the elf dance (since it seems that a lot of new fans are made after watching her in youtube nowadays), some thread about the ACC building... and that kind of things that dont require being an expert on Alizée's career.

2. Another way, is to open a thread where every member can suggest interesting threads, and more threads can be added every time someone discovers an interesting one.
Doing it this way, the content would be aimed to current members of the forum, including not only "the best of" threads, but interesting dicussions, good fan art threads, funny Alizée facts or anecdotes, videos, etc...

Or it could be a mix of those two ways... Or a completely different thing if someone has an idea.
I don´t think this has to be a job done only by the mods, but there is something mods should do: Establish the criteria.
With that i mean to choose how the selection of threads should be, and have the last word on what can go and what can not go. I love democracy but in certain aspects, listening to everybody's opinions would take us to nothing done at the end...
Don't get me wrong on this, people suggesting threads to add, would be of course the most important thing in all this.

There is the risk that people forget about this slowly or could be a point where this whole idea get lost in the way. In this case we still would have the simple way i wrote about before: A small selection of representative threads on AAm history.

Three important things in my opinion:
-To choose what kind of thread should be and what would be the best way to procede.
-The exclusive autograph session should be the first thread added!
-Patience. This is not going to be done by next week.

Anyway this is just my opinion, we could do a different thing.
I just think a few good visible threads could show people good things about Alizée, her fans, and this place

I added articles and blog section with similar objective. I would suggest members to use it more often for such stories and thoughts.

For ex - if you go to some concert or show and want to share experiences in short and constant basis, then post in regular thread. But after few days or months, if you want to write an article about the whole experience through which other people can feel about the event, then in that case prefer articles and blog section.

If you have some interview or interesting write-up related to Alizee then in that case also same can be used.

Basically each thread in that section is supposed to have one long opening post and then comments of other members on that post only rather than a regular free flowing discussion like normal threads.

Probably we can add older threads to that section. I guess it would be good if some member brings old threads to the notice of mods and requests it to be added to the articles and blog section. Mods can review the thread and choose which post would be main/opening post of the article.

Is there any way we could increase the maximum size of our avatars from 24.4 KB to 30 KB?

I have to agree with the greening should be allowed as much as people wish i don't see it becoming a problem in any case.

Also i've said before there should be sub-forum sections for other artists like Priscilla Prissou and others who would have popular topics . It really isn't that hard to set up sub section parts of the forum and categories within .
Yes i'm sure each singer or musician sub section added may seem not to make sense as these others have other forums elsewhere already for them not here . Just to bring in people interested moreso in others than Alizee may not only bring in more Alizee posting but perhaps turn them on to Alizee if they had not already been .
