The world certainly wont come to an end, but let's look at what's going on with the new album's release date being pushed back. I firmly believe that it's just a minor set back and it will eventually get here and it will be a good one, but let's say for the sake of argument that I'm wrong. Let's say that there is trouble in paradise and that the new album is very much in jeapordy.
I'm sure if Sony decides to scrap this album, it will be their last attempt to make one with her. So now she has to go to another record label. The fact that she has had 3 atttemps to make a successful album on her own and all 3 have failed in France is going to be such a red flag on her resume. So she needs some type of an edge, some type of advantage, to even get them to listen to her. Now what kind of an initial impression is she going to make if she walks in that door and they see this woman covered in tatoos and not only covered in tatoos, but covered in tatoos of cartoon characters? Do you not think they'd have a vastly different opinion of her if she walked in sans tatoos? Granted the tatoos have nothing to do with the music, but they'll take a look at what's on the rest of the resume. Has she taken any voice lessons?...........................apparently not. Has she tried to learn to play an instrument?............apparently not. Has she studied any of the arts?............................................. no. Has she tried to learn Engish..................................apparently not. What has she done in the almost 9 years since she left MF/LB, to improve her abilities......apparently nothing except for going to the dance studio a lot. Is she incredibly beautiful? That's where her beauty could be to such an advantage. She has a very beautiful voice, but I believe it's of a range that's difficult to write songs for. That's the main reason her first 2 albums on her own failed. Nobody else could right lyrics or music that were so right for her voice as MF and LB did, and they made it look so easy. But the one tremendous advantage she has or is it used to have, is her incredible beauty. I work Saturday night and around mdnight, I'm usually waiting for my second airplane to come in. I get to see bits and pieces of Saturday night live. I see a lot of young artists on that show and I've mentioned this before is seems like each singer has some type of gimmick they are trying to use to set them apart from everyone else. Well Alizee needed no gimmick. She had such stunning beauty. The type of beuaty that when she walks in a room, every man's head would turn. You'd probably hear a lot of slaps soon afterwards. Well she might still be turning heads, but it's for a different reason now. Bottom line, she is throwing away something that was such a huge advantage to her career. It was such a great door opener. What executive with a music company wouldn't jump at the chance just to talk to her and once she got to talk to them, in the past, there was probably no way they could say no to her. But she's throwing that huge advantage away. For what? It could be she hates that image that MF and LB created and she's doing her best to destroy it which would be a tragedy. It'd be just like that saying 'biting off your nose to spite your face". Last edited by Scruffydog777; 09-05-2012 at 07:19 PM.. |

I looked at Tinkerbell as that one thing that set her apart from the rest.
Being I've been into Alizée for so long and I have come to understand her apparent personality. It was one of those things that just fit with Alizée. Like it or not that back tattoo just seems to work with her. Every Tattoo after that one has been a detriment to her appearance. I agree with you Scruffydog, she has her looks and personality that set her apart from the other female singers in France. As a person that hires and fires I can see the executives at Sony Music doing a lot of eye rolls over what she has done to her body over the last year or so while this album has been in production. BTW cost to remove is $125 for the first square inch and $25 for each additional square inch of tattoo per session. It will take five to seven laser sessions spaced out every six to eight weeks to remove those tattoos. One year and somewhere between $7,500 and $10,000 to clean up her arms. Quote:

I just hope she was smart and saved some money; I could really see her opening up a dance studio and teaching dance ... it would seem to make her happy too!
