HEY... you don't know how painful it is to sit and play that damned song over and over again. It was prolly a freshman trying not to cry from pain.

Even Band Buffalo thinks so

hahHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Damn you for making me think of that crappy song "Hot Cross Buns". I was terrible at playing that crap on an instrument. I kept doing it one note per 2 seconds. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Btw, anyone happen to know how the hell "Pomp and Circumstance" ended up being the standard "graduation" song? How did it begin? Or rather, WHEN did it begin?

I think something along the lines of when the guy who composed it graduated, the university had the band play it kinda 4 teh lulz.

------

beetee dubz,

WIMMINZ, can you explain to me why in the fuck during basketball games the only thing the band would play was brass versions of Bad Romance and Somebody That I Used To Know?

It's not that they played those two, it's that they played only those two

Most bands tend to half-ass stuff like basketball games and parades*, we don't want to be there but are forced to anyway and devote actual thought and effort to REAL band things (competitions, concerts) the whole time. I'm sure they didn't feel like playing much and said "whatevs, no one is paying attention anyway".

*Seriously though, parades suck. As a band person I think I can speak for every other band person ever that any time you see a parade, each and every musician there is thinking "fuck all of you so hard" as they march. It's pure torture.

I'm sorry Azhiri, I really do empathize with you, but when I read this I really laughed out loud.

When you get done taking an online placement test, and the browser freezes right as it's trying to submit my answers.
