When my husband was in the Marines his Sgt was checking for haircuts. He looked at my husband and said, "Looks like you got about two inches of bang." My husband looked at him and said, "That's a great name for a band."

As much as I love what Alizée has done so far, I’m willing to go new places with her. After all, it’s natural for an artist to want to stretch, to grow, to try new things. That’s fine by me. The one thing that I hope Alizée does not do is get into rap. There’s just no point in listening to rap in a language you don’t understand. Try it, and see how dull it is. This was driven home to me recently when listening to Russian pop music. (AA-1, where are you?) I just started listening to Russian pop music a few weeks ago, and I really like some of it. One group, called Propaganda, has done some catchy pop tunes that I think are great, but they’ve also done some stuff that is basically Russian rap … and abysmally dull to a non-Russian-speaker such as myself. No doubt about it: rap is more speech than song. It’s just not very musical. Now, I have no reason to think that Alizée is getting into rap, I’m just saying I hope she ain’t! Has she ever expressed an opinion about rap? Anyone know? (RMJ?) It would be okay if she wanted to incorporate brief raps into a song or something, but a full-length rap would be a waste of her beautiful singing voice (imo).

Then she could change it from "my goldfish is under me" to "my goldfish is on my face."

Alizée's natural beauty is so strong, that if she decides to change a bit, I would certainly understand. No one that I remember has kept a teen image as an adult when music was concerned.
I do however find her J'en ai Marre hairstyle to perfectly suit her face and look. To me it is the perfect image of how I want to always remember Alizée, but she will want to experiment with different styles until she comes to the realization that she finds one particular style to be her personal favorite. This is a perfectly natural thing for anyone to do. Of all the videos I have seen of Alizée, my personal favorite and the one I think she looks her absolutely most beautiful in is the Pour Laurette video of J'en ai Marre. That one video of all is the killer look to me. How could anyone look more beautiful then that? |

I don't know where I read it, but I swore she said in an interview that she didn't care for rap, but thought French rap was o.k. (emphasis on just o.k.)
I'm assuming when she said rap the first time she was speaking of American rap. Although, I have heard her say she liked Eminem. But Em also has a different style of rap, so...voila!
