Behold the tongue peircings at approximately 2:06:
http://alizeeamerica.com/play/?v=59

I have noticed that Alizée has been on the front edge of fashion statements with her hair, and clothing, so it is possible that since tattoos and piercings are more prevelent in today's world, that she had tried them as just being ahead of the curve in her universe of friends for her age.

Whatever the reason, it is something some individuals in younger generations take up as being chic, or fashionable.
While it could be a health hazzard, and possibly a hinderance to her singing, she has abandoned them apparently.

It is all part of her just being herself, which is what we all find so awesome about her, whether in fact we agree with some of her decisions or not.

It has not changed my personal feelings about her in the least, probably because I am mellowing out as I age.

I didn't know of the piercings.

I don't like piercings but I don't care as it was her decision even though I'm glad they're gone. I normally don't like tattoos but I've always liked the Tinkerbell tattoo on her back for some reason. You shouldn't hate on her tattoos as they actually means something to her.

I don't mind her Tinkerbell tattoo, even though I really dislike tattoos, especially big ones like hers. I would even say I like her Tinkerbell tattoo, (even though I think she would look better without it) I don't know why it doesn't bother me as much as I feel it should.

As is often the case, our friend Deep makes some thoughtful remarks.

But my problem is that I never stopped thinking that it was weird people "traditionally"
1. Pierce earlobes (zoologist Desmond Morris asserted they evolved for sexual reasons)
2. Circumcise genitalia
3. Shave or otherwise banish hair totally
4. Dye and "style" hair

If you are interested in this topic, you might like to read a recent piece in The Economist titled Hair, beards and power.

For media personalities, the less radical alternative of augmented reality continues to become ever easier, from the simple expedient of static image collage to sophisticated simulacra.

For now, the ultimate in aesthetic body modification is plastic surgery. In another posting, I observed it was curious that Alizée would embrace tattoos, but reject Botox. (The Barbie doll reference derives from my earlier remark.)

I can see the day come when our mastery of genetics enables us to do more than "silly stuff" like regenerate mammalian organs, and we go on to move them around or create extras in funny places. Actually, less radical methods already exist to create oddities like the so-called "earmouse."

Pity the poor etymologist of the future who will fail to divine the true origin of a word like dickhead!

Well I ment the chin piercing, when I said lip.

But here is a shot of the tongue one.

It's not really on her chin, I think lip is more accurate. But ‹ labret › is the technical term for that type of piercing.

Well for one, tattoos are quite superficial, whereas botox is when you inject poison into yourself to paralyze your muscles. I think I can understand why she isn't too open for botox.

When I saw "Paralyzed" in this post I guess I subconciouslythought Alizee had been paralyzed or something. I need sleep. But yah that reminds me of La Methode Caudet when they talk about the rumor of Alizee's arms being chopped off in a car accident....bad thoughts bad thoughts AHHHH

Now that is the silliest thing I've ever seen in my life. What's the use of putting a human ear on a mouse?

It turns out that rumor had some basis in fact. It so happens that Alizée lost not her arms, but her wings in a horrible traffic accident. This led a famous French humanitarian group, Flics de la Circulation Sans Frontières, to create and distribute the bumper sticker shown below. For those who cannot read French, it states: "I brake for Corsican fairies"

Happily, Alizée nonetheless retained the ability to fly, because, well, she's magical!

It's revenge, at long last, for all the mouse ears Disney put on humans over the generations!!!

Speaking of revenge, Julien Doré had better think again whose song he covers in the future, lest Alizée lose her head!
