"Others" people don't think Alizée is pretty?
Someone says, as answer, "She's just another person in the world...average" ...witch means :" I don't know her !" Mariah Carey is not as beautifull as our Lilly, but everybody ( = occidental english talking people ) know Mariah, and have an advice on her. Who cares about Kylie Minogue before she's famous ( worldwide) ? Show somebody a photo of Christina Aguilera in 1998... it's like showing some obscure mexican singer... You cousin can't be as beautifull as Angelina Jolie.... not because she can't, but because nobody know her ! Like in real life, you have to devellop a relationship with a star to be attracted by her. Knowing what she think, have seen her in shows, moving, dancing, talking ( not just on a single photo) and be captures by her magic day after day... That's why just asking a question like this to people who don't her is not relevant... And ,by the way, all taste are in nature , like we say in french... Christina Aguilera grew up about 25 miles (40Km) north of me in Wexford Pennsylvania. And your right Big Dan about peoples perception and celebrity status what people think is good looking.
I see women in this city every day that are prettier than Christina. I think the women's negative views of Alizée is that she doesn't measure up to societies standards. She is the girl next door type. Guys are not suppose to like those types of women. When one of them comes along like Alizée that drives guys crazy, women are threatened by her.

The true test of physical beauty is not a snapshot of a dolled up babe, where makeup and lights cover up everything, but a snapshot right after they wake up in the morning.
Unfortunately, my attempts to get into a position to snap such a photo didn't pan out very well, so I guess we'll just have to speculate.

People who live in Ajaccio say that you can walk right past her and never notice she is there. I think she is pretty but nothing outstanding. I hated her hair in the JEAM video with the part down the middle. We called it butt-cheek hair.

I think if people were to meet her on the street, especially now, they wouldn't be awed by her. Having said that, the guy in the Yahoo thread never posted links to Gourmandises stage performances or even a link to a high quality video of La Is La Bonita, I think she looks absolutely fine in those. Most of those links were pictures and pictures just doesn't do justice. I don't think she is as pretty now as she was in say from the MCE era, she was absolutely beautiful then.
