But, I like a lot of what everybody else posted too.
I didn't ever really know much about Tangerine Dream, but though Riddley Scott came to regret "compromising" the score of "Legend" by redoing it with Tangerine Dream, I must say that I really like it better with their music. That's probably because it imprinted upon me when I first saw that movie when I was very young. It was such a great movie that everything about it, especially the music, had a very positive association.

George Winston's "Variations on the Kanon by Pachelbel" is probably my favorite. The best YouTube performance I could find is here:

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-nvrGWHij10&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-nvrGWHij10&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

although the full orchestral version is very good too:

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/6wpPk8qk3uQ&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/6wpPk8qk3uQ&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Um...you're probably over-reacting slightly. In principle, with a slight stretch, one could consider the instrumental to a song as another song....usually it goes the other way around (e.g., slapping lyrics on an instrumental) but...
I like, e.g., DJ Nestonia's instrumental remakes of Gourmandises, ACC, ML, etc.

And besides, you know RMJ; everything about ACC is crystalline perfection. There's not even any point debating it

Speaking of Pachelbel's Canon, this is hilarious:

Speaking of Canon, I love this performance:

Canon in C major (piano)
