I suppose it's about time I joined this forum.
I did some translations on alizee-forum without realizing that they were already done here. So that we can coordinate our activities better, we should make a list of interviews that haven't been translated yet. |

And some day translate the radio programs too, like the one I was on. This is great, it seems like we recently got a bunch of people who can do translations and BiB has been knocking them out. I've been rarely on AAm recently. I think I've missed some stuff.
It's sad though. Frankly, I was recently looking the the Moi...Lolita translation that I have and even that could be improved. I guess if 7 years after her most famous song does not improve a translation, nothing ever will. I suspect I could get a better translation by reading discussions about it, but really we need to have an official translation area like alizee-forum had (except that those translations were lousy). Maybe there could be a few translations "officially" if there are arguments and they should all be riddled with footnotes as things absolutely must be explained. I guess that would be both translation and analysis. Anyway, thanks guys.

The best translations for the first two albums that I found were the ones at mf-international done by "The Honorable" (well, I couldn't gauge the translations myself for quality against the originals, but they seemed to be the best annotated and etc.)

sorry for my terrible work this time its a really bad translation i tried to give you a general idea but there were several places i just could not understand if theres other French willing to help me i would appreciate it please PM me 1 00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:03,371 The wind blows in the right direction again for Mylène Farmer's Lolita, 2 00:00:03,372 --> 00:00:06,523 finally, Farmer's ex and now its her husband 3 00:00:06,524 --> 00:00:09,700 Jérémy, who works with Alizée, 3rd album, meeting. 4 00:00:11,408 --> 00:00:14,096 Remember a few years ago Alizée was this. 5 00:00:14,097 --> 00:00:17,549 A playful girl, a cute little wink, an flirting adolescent 6 00:00:17,550 --> 00:00:20,149 whom we gave money to so she could buy herself lollipops. 7 00:00:20,150 --> 00:00:24,598 Do you have little kids? Then forget all that! The old singer from 8 00:00:24,599 --> 00:00:28,205 Graines de Stars has swapped Mylène for a corset appropriate to the era, 9 00:00:28,206 --> 00:00:31,563 and comes back with Psychédélices, her multicoloured album. 10 00:00:32,523 --> 00:00:38,940 I try to create my universe, and to create my sound with 11 00:00:38,941 --> 00:00:44,893 certain influences, things that I like, more éléctro, pop, rock, urban, 12 00:00:44,894 --> 00:00:47,286 voilà, and I know how to make a mix. 13 00:00:47,287 --> 00:00:52,821 Fed up of the rules, Alizée did not want to choose between all the 14 00:00:52,822 --> 00:00:56,572 influences that inspired her. Like her model Gwen Stefani, she even 15 00:00:56,573 --> 00:00:59,871 courageously tried rap, 16 00:00:59,872 --> 00:01:00,439 by talking to a master of the genre Oxmo Puccino. 17 00:01:02,152 --> 00:01:06,664 I asked Oxmo, because to convince him he was the rapper who 18 00:01:06,665 --> 00:01:11,624 set the bar for other French rappers, who talked about other things, 19 00:01:11,625 --> 00:01:16,364 to have flow, that it be innate, that it be learned so I asked 20 00:01:16,365 --> 00:01:20,093 Oxmo to really teach me, I let myself loose, and 21 00:01:20,094 --> 00:01:21,994 it was a great experience. 22 00:01:21,995 --> 00:01:24,235 You hear it when my man isn't feelin good 23 00:01:24,236 --> 00:01:26,661 A kiss and I set sail 24 00:01:26,662 --> 00:01:28,780 It's the awesome source 25 00:01:28,781 --> 00:01:31,140 Destination, a destination 26 00:01:32,048 --> 00:01:35,535 Take risks and putting her own choices first, that is 27 00:01:35,536 --> 00:01:38,622 Alizée's new objective, its for sure that her story 28 00:01:38,623 --> 00:01:41,569 began with Mylène Farmer and Laurent Boutonnat. 29 00:01:41,570 --> 00:01:44,614 Did they follow their ex-student's activities? 30 00:01:46,583 --> 00:01:48,543 They were the first, its their album. 31 00:01:49,538 --> 00:01:50,899 And what did they think about it? 32 00:01:53,825 --> 00:01:58,108 Ok! This beautiful mother will do without, producer of her album, 33 00:01:58,109 --> 00:02:01,674 she also works with her family, because its her husband 34 00:02:01,675 --> 00:02:05,436 Jérémy Châtelain who codirects Psychédélices. Between the 35 00:02:05,437 --> 00:02:06,315 studio and the house is it easy to work with your husband? 36 00:02:06,316 --> 00:02:10,013 It's not like we went to the office to work, we share the same 37 00:02:10,014 --> 00:02:15,050 passion, the references that I had for this album, and he understood them, 38 00:02:15,051 --> 00:02:20,593 and tried to take the project where I wanted it to be taken. 39 00:02:20,594 --> 00:02:25,454 Good for her! The JT of music is on the move, so its 40 00:02:25,455 --> 00:02:27,258 grown up and well connected that Alizée comes back to 41 00:02:27,259 --> 00:02:30,007 the stage, and with this sexy little bomb. 42 00:02:30,008 --> 00:02:34,634 I think I succeeded but anyway I put my heart into it. 43 00:02:34,635 --> 00:02:36,640 And also modest!

1 00:00:03,205 --> 00:00:07,532 Alizée is back after a three year absence! And its quite the event. 2 00:00:07,533 --> 00:00:09,049 Let's get right to the interview. 3 00:00:12,264 --> 00:00:16,233 It is the most waited for comeback! Comment, imagine, get jealous, of this 4 00:00:16,234 --> 00:00:20,832 end of 2007, at the age of 23 Alizée the lolita created by Mylène Farmer is 5 00:00:20,833 --> 00:00:22,541 back after three years of silence. 6 00:00:22,542 --> 00:00:25,805 I took some time for myself, I spent time with 7 00:00:25,806 --> 00:00:29,847 my family, and stepped back a little, in relation to everything that I had done. 8 00:00:31,057 --> 00:00:34,489 When we meet Alizée, what gets you is her very refreshing demeanor. 9 00:00:34,490 --> 00:00:37,073 We feel that she has definitely decided to take her life and career into her own hands, 10 00:00:37,074 --> 00:00:41,778 the proof: it was three years ago that she decided to free herself from her 11 00:00:41,779 --> 00:00:43,849 mentors, Mylène Farmer and Laurent Boutonnat, 12 00:00:43,850 --> 00:00:46,094 and Alizée found herself without a record company. 13 00:00:46,095 --> 00:00:53,150 I was no longer fifteen, I wanted a bit of freedom, 14 00:00:53,151 --> 00:00:57,050 in fact I only knew one way to work, its that during four 15 00:00:57,051 --> 00:01:00,988 years I always worked with the same people, and then my objective was to 16 00:01:00,989 --> 00:01:03,803 learn other ways of working. 17 00:01:04,618 --> 00:01:07,922 A great passion that definitely was commented about. When the 18 00:01:07,923 --> 00:01:11,343 When the first rumours of Alizée's new album started to come out, 19 00:01:11,344 --> 00:01:13,796 the press spoke of a painful separation and even a "revenge" song 20 00:01:13,797 --> 00:01:15,956 about Mylène Farmer. 21 00:01:17,321 --> 00:01:21,889 I took that with a good laugh, but at the same time people have to talk 22 00:01:21,890 --> 00:01:24,500 when there is nothing to talk about. 23 00:01:24,501 --> 00:01:28,284 What was talked about also was that Alizée's brand was taken by 24 00:01:28,285 --> 00:01:31,790 Farmer/Boutonnat, and if she wanted to continue to use her name, which 25 00:01:31,791 --> 00:01:33,773 is really hers, Alizée had to buy it back. 26 00:01:33,774 --> 00:01:38,127 No, I bought my name back for the symbolic price of one euro. 27 00:01:38,128 --> 00:01:40,378 28 00:01:40,379 --> 00:01:44,188 Something that knows about today's release, and about rumours that 29 00:01:44,189 --> 00:01:47,099 Alizée will never talk about, the young lady has great communication skills. 30 00:01:56,710 --> 00:01:59,862 We are forced to look at her education in music and media, 31 00:01:59,863 --> 00:02:03,683 under the guidance of the French singer who knows the most about mystery. 32 00:02:03,684 --> 00:02:09,647 I learned a lot of things, I learned toughness, that we don't get a free lunch, 33 00:02:09,648 --> 00:02:14,053 that it's always necessary to work, to always give, more than is necessary. 34 00:02:14,054 --> 00:02:15,566 I think I was in the right school. 35 00:02:15,567 --> 00:02:19,420 For two years Alizée worked secretly, to convince herself about the points 36 00:02:19,421 --> 00:02:22,919 of working with her, the result, a surprising album, very rock, 37 00:02:22,920 --> 00:02:24,933 that expresses an evident desire to break away. 38 00:02:26,627 --> 00:02:30,125 And to show the first single Mademoiselle Juliette, Alizée dressed herself 39 00:02:30,126 --> 00:02:32,679 just like in cinema, just like Mylène's? 40 00:02:32,680 --> 00:02:36,475 I wanted to, like her, a reference, because that's what I did before, 41 00:02:36,476 --> 00:02:42,728 because Mylène, her clips are film. I did what I was taught, 42 00:02:42,729 --> 00:02:49,173 voilà, how I was taught to work, and I tried at my own 43 00:02:49,174 --> 00:02:50,641 humble level to do the same thing for me. 44 00:02:50,642 --> 00:02:55,510 The same for her? As mysterious as her? As in control as her. 45 00:02:55,511 --> 00:02:57,070 A feeling that she has already learned it. 46 00:02:57,071 --> 00:03:00,972 Its not Mylène and Laurent who told me "don't say this", "don't 47 00:03:00,973 --> 00:03:03,986 do that, you need to sway less, more. I am like this 48 00:03:03,987 --> 00:03:08,451 I am shy, timid, and that I don't think will change. 49 00:03:08,452 --> 00:03:10,740 Alizée will not say anything more about the past, 50 00:03:10,741 --> 00:03:14,371 but for now, Alizée's principal collaborator is Jérémy, 51 00:03:14,372 --> 00:03:18,039 her husband, so when two stars marry, have a baby, 52 00:03:18,040 --> 00:03:19,578 and a CD, what does that give? 53 00:03:19,579 --> 00:03:24,271 And the covers of People magazine, definitely talked a lot about it. 54 00:03:24,609 --> 00:03:29,727 I don't wager with life, but I protect myself a lot. I think that the fact 55 00:03:29,728 --> 00:03:35,591 he's on the album, it won't stop them from talking more or less, 56 00:03:35,592 --> 00:03:39,578 if he wasn't on the album, he would have been talked about anyway. 57 00:03:40,327 --> 00:03:43,765 At 23 years of age, Alizée has already sold more than 5 million albums in the world, 58 00:03:43,766 --> 00:03:46,514 today she has definitively shelved her Lolita clothes, 59 00:03:46,515 --> 00:03:50,490 and its even her who did the dance, that's what we say to ourselves.
