![]() You can never stop discussing that topic. This is the American forums no?
Never ever will I forget about the idea for a concert here. She has a great number of fans here in America but the problem is that they are all spread out in different states. It is fun to dream though so I won't forget about it and I will always think about the idea and hope for the best.

![]() While we talked here about all the reasons why it can’t work, the Mexicans were making it work. While we suggested making ourselves known as US fans on her myspace, we cautioned ourselves not to go overboard and spam her. Meanwhile, the Mexicans filled her comment section everyday with messages and even called her freakin house! Maybe the American “can do” attitude was left behind in the twentieth century and now it’s someone else’s turn to make the bold steps.
You have to convince the media they’re missing out on the great story of the growing fan base in the US of a French singer named Alizée. Once the media does stories on it, other people will notice and some may jump on the bandwagon. Alizée is quite charming and hard to resist, but the media is going to be a hard nut to crack. I’ve written to TV shows requesting Alizée as a guest and so has Rocket. I’ve mailed out Psychédélices CDs to radio stations and then requested her songs to be played. I have had no luck to this point and I am at a loss as to how to proceed from here. Someone who has the time would have to organize a true effort, and maybe it would have to be someone where fans are more concentrated. Why don’t you guys in the New York area get together and come up with something. |

![]() that's right
if the Mexicans can do it so can we Alizee is way too modest - she should be looking at the U.S. she's amazingly beautiful, a good role model, great singer and dancer and has already several great singles she can use in the U.S. market she just needs to take a chance in the U.S. and start playing shows at small venues i.e. malls, record stores, radio station interviews, opening for "bigger acts" in concerts i.e. maybe for that Hannah Disney star Alizee should offer to do live performances on shows on maybe Disney Channel - after all she does have Tinkerbell tattooed on her back! I think that demographic would love her and parents will love her clean image Starting off small will eventually grow and she could explode into a full U.S. star within months - after all that's how all stars start off (as far as i know) we should try to contact her via myspace like the Mexicans |

![]() well, she said les requins et les vipères c pas mon truc
when Alizée asks you : What about the dishonest businessmen and the sharks waiting to devour you in the American music industry? what will you answer to that? Alizée specifically expressed this fear about America.

However, Alizée has said that she is afraid of the US market. She also said if it was up to her she wouldn’t leave France at all. I don’t think it’s the sharks she’s really afraid of. One should consider that if Alizée truly does not want to come to the US, should we be trying so hard to get her to come here, probably against her will. When I read these recent interviews I had to reassess what value she sees in someone like me (being from the US) in being her fan. |

![]() Personally, I think that if they called her house, that would be over the line.
In Mexico, they played her music a lot in clubs apparently. I don't think any radio station that has a "format" is going to shoehorn her into a rotation. Club play might be more of an underground option....? Some DJs here have been playing her songs with some success IIRC. |

Edit: Just one more point. It should be noted that the US is a country that depends on the rule of law and has extensive safeguards for intellectual property rights. If you were signing your first contract as an artist in the US, you could get screwed if you don’t know what you’re signing and don’t have legal representation. But Alizée is not a newcomer and she is already under contract with RCA/SONY/BMG. She is well represented by professionals and her concerns are their concerns, so I don’t think she needs to fear American businessmen. And I wouldn’t assume European businessmen are any more or less scrupulous. In Mexico, piracy has run rampant, and some other countries don’t even protect or even recognize intellectual property rights. Yet she has done business with them. Sharks are not the thing you need to fear in the US. You need to know yourself, because your self may be the biggest thing to fear. Last edited by lefty12357; 03-08-2008 at 11:57 PM.. |
