Hmm, I don't really understand the deletion of certain myspace comments either..especially when I go on there and see the same comment spammed on the whole page. I really wouldn't take it to heart though, its just myspace, and like Snatcher said..possibly a glitch. We have to remember though, Mexico had been pushing for a while to get her to come. USA has really just started the past...year or so. She said herself she won't forget about us..so I try to remember that.

Barack Obama recently met with President Nicolas Sarkozy and put France back in the spotlight in America. Since then, I watched a report with Barbara Walters interviewing the presidents wife, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy. During the interview the ex-model turned musical artist said she is going to release her latest album, Comme si de Rien N'etait, in the United States. The entire album will be in french.

I feel that the time is right for Alizee to do the same. We can beg and plead to Lili all we want. We can make blogs, t-shirts, bumper stickers and hats galore, but she still needs to release her album here before any of this matters. As far as concerts, I don't see it in the near furture. What I do see is making an appearance on someplace like Saturday Night Live. I think it would be so awesome to hear ...musical guest...ALIZEE!! I just see her on doing promos for the show. Standing next to Christopher Walken with her little beaming face. "Hi, I'm Christopher Walken and I'll be hosting Saturday Night Live. Please join me as we welcome our musical guest, Alizee!"

Great post, Rocket. I couldn't agree more. If Alizée wants to help jump start some buzz here, she should really consider trying to get on SNL or something like it. There is little to no expense or risk involved for her. She's got nothing to lose, and possibly quite a lot to gain.

Cool

Good idea. Should we start sending requests to SNL?

Hope to post a full LTNY update tomorrow, but in the meantime here's some stuff that should be hitting the streets of New York soon:

Sampler CD:

Wow, good stuff, Snatcher. Very professional-looking. I especially like the Lili silhouette on the back of the business card.

If I could make a suggestion, though: since you're technically violating copyright, you might want to add some fine print at the bottom of the CD, if only to show Sony BMG that you're aware of this, but operating in good faith. It still doesn't give you a leg to stand on, from a legal standpoint, but it might make the lawyers think twice before sending you a C & D letter.

Something to the effect of "Lilly Town New York is in no way affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Wisteria Song, RCA or Sony BMG. The contents of this disc are copyright their respective owners. This disc was produced and distributed for promotional purposes only, and is a not-for-profit endeavor. Lilly Town New York and/or its agents make no claim of ownership to the materials contained therein."

I thought about that. The problem is I'm printing the CD labels myself on an inkjet where "fine print" translates into "blurry smudges". I'd have to make it large enough to be legible, and unfortunately there isn't room for that on the disc surface.

I still might try something though. Thanks for the feedback!

I think Ruroshen is right. It may not cover you legally, but it would communicate that your intent is purely to promote Alizée in the USA and that you are not profiting by it personally. I wish there was a way you could do this more anonymously.

I think the CD and card look perfect. It's a great way to promote Alizée.

What about making the artwork just slightly smaller to leave a white border and just printing the disclamer in black around the outside? The small type might be clearer if not on that background.
