Laurent Ruquier: When I heard this in my car for the first time, not knowing it was you, I thought about Coeur de pirate. Do you take this as a compliment? Alizée: Yes, I really like her. On January 20th, 2011, I wrote on AAm that Coeur de pirate’s style would suit Alizée perfectly: http://alizeeamerica.com/forums/show...4&postcount=61 I haven’t heard the new album and I can’t tell if it does indeed sound like Coeur de pirate, but maybe Alizée does read these forums afterall.

I'm glad they also showed her participation in Les Enfoires. That should have reminded people all the good things she has been doing all these years. Though, I noticed she seemed not too please at all when they played La Isla Bonita. I think she really wanted to get away from her Lolita days but people keep on bringing it up!

12 hours later and
- I still want to kill this Dave, who called Alizée a "bitch"... - I'm still mad at twitter for all those disgusting comments... - I still don't understand why they let Eric Zemmour steal some of Lili's talking time and why they spent so little time speaking about the new album instead of asking about the lolita character... - Pedophilia joke, why, just why? - Why would they compare Alizée's nose to Michael Jackson's ??? Yup , the latest stats says the show had its best audience in months! http://tele.premiere.fr/News-Tele/Au...couche-3709136 okay that being said, it was a great interview! She really sounds like an intelligent mature woman, she answers quickly and politely to the critics and doesn't use a childish vocabulary ! Awesome ! Definitely one of her best interviews ! Fun fact: Noticed how she said "Le Papa de ma Fille, Jérémy Chatelain" , " My daughter's daddy, Jérémy Chatelain" ... and not my husband ? ^^ PS: She looks really tanned , while she was almost white a week ago at Melty... Either Ajaccio's sun is pretty damn intense, or she's doing UVs ... and I don't want her to get a skin cancer Last edited by lapinschous; 03-24-2013 at 09:58 AM.. |

I'm not sure about all of it, not speaking much French, but the overall impression was great - Alizée looked fantastic and sounded confident and self-assured plus the new album cover was in shot a lot of the time. Even if there was the inevitable harking back to the early days, she dealt with it deftly. More than anything it's fabulous to see her THERE and being the centre of attention. Ignore the Twitter trolls - they're only jealous little nobodies anyway.
Rejoice - SHE'S BACK ! |

The interview was the same old stuff we have heard time and time again, and it is quite easily understandable. For most people in France today, Alizée is a “nobody” unless she is defined by her LB/MF years and the Lolita image because she hasn’t done anything (or anything worth mentioning) since then. Her diehard fans might not agree with this, but that is the reality of the situation as far as I can tell. For the most part, Alizée is generally perceived as a “has been” who tries to recover some luster, but she is mostly failing at it. People still find her agreeable, nice and good looking (and some like to reminisce about her past fame and the “show me your ass” years), but otherwise, I would say the public has little interest.
Now, Alizée might lack depth , but she is not stupid. If she wants the exposure in the mass oriented shows and media, she will have to accept to revisit the same old references to the LB/MF years and the Lolita image. Fans might feel this is unfair to her, but if Alizée agrees to play the game for what she can gain from it, she has to accept the rules. The only reason Alizée was on that show (and got this exposure) is because of who she was in the past. Take away the Lolita years and she is not on that show yesterday. Instead, she would have probably been somewhere in a small venue of a small French city, singing her heart’s out trying to convince people that she has something relevant to sell... I think she prefers to ride on her past fame even if it means answering the same old tired questions. If her new album makes it big, she might be able to slowly distance herself from the past fame and the past image. Edit: I was just kidding. I am the first one to question those who keep saying that she *must* be visiting and/or caring about AAm forums. http://alizeeamerica.com/forums/show...9&postcount=11

I've got to study tonight, and since the interview is pretty long I'll make a translated detailed summary tomorrow in the afternoon, ...unless Bigdan wants to do it in my stead. |
