Expections of her return

As I said, it's entirely possible that I am reading too much of her present into her past. However, this thread is actually about her return. On that, I have no doubts.

In my previous post I avoided making my own conclusions and just laid out a few possibilities concerning the songwriting credit issue. My take on it is that Alizée probably just expressed thoughts and feelings about her life in a very general sort of way. Mylene then distilled all of it down into nice, neat little packages, thus having a starting point to write the lyrics for the songs. I don’t feel Alizée ever claimed she did more than that.

Someone asked earlier why getting writing credits mattered. It has to do with getting paid. Owning a piece of the writing credits means you get a bigger cut. It can be a significant amount of money.

More than likely, that was just a line she was told to say to give her more credibility.

If so, that's likely the biggest reason why her old mentors have no presence in the new album (regardless of whose decision it was). Which leaves the conclusion unchanged about said album and her comeback.

This thread is about expectations of her return! Take the Songwriting Legal Discussion down the hall! :P

I (in my own fantasy world) see her coming back being a long slow burn to get started. Not really catching on quickly, but then, like the bell curve - STRAIGHT UP! Not because i know anything, but because i would like her to be "top" again!

My feeling is the music will change, be different style and content. I'm personally hoping for a little more towards Rock and Roll or Rock/Blues, but that is ENTIRELY my own predjudice! I will certainly buy her new album, my only REAL fear is that she hasn't thrown out that outfit she wore during 'la Important ce donner (pardon the spelling!). I think she's very cute in that video, and at several points she is really spontaneously smiling and laughing with Natasha while thier singing, and that is what i love about that video, but not so happy with the outfit!

For her return? I expect her to sing, dress well, and hopefully be as sucessfull as SHE wants to be!

I know what you're saying about the outfit; but my main issues with that video are first the make-up and then the hair. I'm just hoping those things are different.

Above there's a link to a Mexican fan site that has a link to some recent pics of Alizée and Anny-Lee on a plane. Alizée's hair is in a ponytail in those pics, so she's grown her hair longer since the performance. Of course she could change that before we see her.
