Yes, but I don't think it's a question of belief. I agree with Deep that it's better not to say anything.

Look guys, Mon Maquis is just saying not to get your hopes up for any kind of response from the letter, and I think that's true. He's a mod here, and the webmaster of melissamars.net, oh-yelle.com, and formerly lillytownusa.com. And he did have contact with Alizée for a time, but don't go bugging him about it because it's in the past now (his choice). I won't go into how or why, that's up to him to share or not.

But the two examples he brought up in this thread as to why she might not respond are a Eurochannel special that fell through, and Alizée's last letter to her fans after the second concert cancellation, which apparently she wouldn't have written on her own. Both are new information for most of us, so don't feel confused, but it's coming from the source.

However in any case, I agree with Lefty's post. Even if Alizée doesn't respond to the letter in this thread, heck even if she doesn't read it at all, it's still a nice and positive thing for the fans to do. So don't let any of this stop you guys!

i definetely agree. it gives us satisfaction that we are trying to get her to notice us(which i think she prob knows our existence).its great that we are thanking her for everything and we should hope for the best!

HERE IT IS, PRETTY MUCH READY TO GO! I'm posting it here for everyone to check if there are any last mistakes. (Like on page 3, where I just noticed it still says we have over 2000 members.) Barring any BIG issues, I'll probably be posting the PDF version this weekend.

Looks like a lot of work, it's really great, there is even an original logo and dozens of signatures.

The day the letter is ready to be sent will surely make some people anxious, like me.

Which is, of course, what I said in my first response to this letter thing months ago. (By the way, I'll just point out that when you (or I) think about the "attempts" that Alizée has made and perhaps think about criticizing, just remember for a little perspective that it has been months that "we" (not that I put much into the effort) have been simply attempting to send a letter.)

Attempting to put it concisely... Mon Maquis seems to be involved in the industry and knows how to contact people (or happens to have the luck to run into them at the airport ?). Unfortunately Alizée has frustrated many people by not pursuing her career aggressively, apparently some people who have tried to help her or wanted to work with her, not just fans wanting replies to letters. I can't especially judge her or why she does what she does (or even what she actually does) as I have not talked to her and don't even know any of the insides of any of her dealings, but I have been around long enough to experience first hand that she disappears from in front of the public for months or years at a time. One can speculate endlessly on why and come up with any number of excuses or condemnations. We probably should not indulge much in doing so as it seems to lead to more frustration than anything else (being a fan of Alizée has brought me some of the greatest joys and frustrations in my life). Alizée would probably call it her private life and ask that people don't pry. Of course, people can express their own experiences.

The situation being what it is does not give me much confidence in the future of her career. So, that's when I try to remember that she has made her mark in the world being a part of something that has deeply touched many people and positively affected millions at one time or another and continues to through the videos that are out there. Much of the frustration that people have had with Alizée is just that they wanted more from her or of her and she has been unable to give it. We have enjoyed her voice gracing many song performances and may indeed enjoy it again some day. She has been a part of creating some really good music as well as a sensation/fantasy/phenomenon.

That has inspired this letter and the concept at least is a good one because it lets people express the joy of discovering her. So, you convinced me, it's probably a good thing to do. Just because she doesn't reply doesn't mean she doesn't receive the letter. At least you tried and you should feel good about the attempt. That makes it about having fun on the forum and that's of course a good thing.

Well, I guess I should have said something about that I do have faith that her album will come out someday, but one can only guess when and it's hard to be certain of anything. We've been waiting over 7 months now since the vocals were finished. (at least we've gotten some kinds of updates here and there)

Her appearances and performances have actually been quite rare since 2004. She obviously did several months of promotion in 2007/8, though it was not becoming of the hype her fans felt about her and not having a hit the promo just sort of dried up and died along with her record company, RCA France.

If her rather subdued music career is because she puts her family above all else then I guess she has succeeded in life, but it's not good for her popularity and that's what we lament since we are not part of her family.

I am really sorry if I have robbed people of hope or Alizée of dignity. I suppose I should just leave if I'm going to do that. Too late. If you are a fan long enough, you will learn the facts and judge for yourself.

The facts as they appear to me don't make things look good in my estimation and having simply said that means that I have done Alizée more harm than good. I kind of hate myself a little bit because of that. I suppose I'm still just too obsessed with her and this forum to approach this in a better way. Tant pis. I am always tempted to say so much more because I guess that's in my nature, but I guess I've done enough damage for one day. Maybe Alizée is sometimes afraid of doing the same thing. If so, she has succeeded where I've failed. I am the long post lord, still, unfortunately.

The day Alizée comes back and makes me feel like an ass for doubting her at all will be a great day. Well, in any case, I'm still awaiting the album.

Roman, it's not your fault you made some feel bad or you posting up extended cut posts but you and others on here have basically or kinda said the same thing. I remember there was that dude noalizee4u or something who comes out of nowhere and posted a very rude post.

Maybe that day where she does come will make you fell like an ass will come. If you don't mind saying this but hope it like anybody on here.
I seriously don't know what to type down anymore. So I'll end my post by saying I too await for the new album.

I, for one, have little doubt that she will read the letter. In fact, it would not surprise me if she has already seen a draft of it - as it has been a topic on this forum for so long and she does (or at lesst has in the past ) occasionally visited.

Some type of response would be nice. However, even if no formal response is received, I fully believe she will have read it.

Remember, it is very difficult to surprise her.
