- There is something for me to be happy about. I was in other town for last 10 days to attend my sister's wedding. All my relatives were there. Indian marriages require lot of arrangements and very hectic process for whole family. That's why all the relatives were staying there only for a week. I never got chance to see most of relatives earlier in my life (some 13-15 aunts, uncles and their families). Earlier we have only heard about them from parents. So, I met one of my cousin there for the first time. She is like 10-11 years old. When she talked to me for the first time, she told me that she had a lot about me. I asked what she had heard. Apparently she was talking about my nature. I rarely talk to any of my relatives. Even if there are lot of people in house, I usually just sit in one corner and do my work. Whatever they say, I do that and don't say anything else to them. I was very busy during those 10 days and doing work like 20 hours a day which included mostly walking through market, buying stuffs and delivering to different places. My cousin whom I mentioned earlier, started going everywhere with me and talking a lot with me. She always used to make fun of me like by saying I'm very boring person, whatever others said about me was right, blah blah... when I asked what others say, she said you don't care about anyone, you have nothing to do anyone in family and you life is a waste because you are working whole day and she enjoyed a lot saying all these. Then I also changed a bit and I started having long conversations with her. During these days, she tried to help me wherever possible. If I was had to carry something from one place to other, she would run and take it before me and carry it herself. Those long conversations always included her saying all kind of bad things about me and making fun of my ways. I thought it's normal and she is like that only. But on the last day I was surprised. I found that during she got emotionally attached to me. She was upset before leaving. She went to the market and bought a gift for me using all the money she had. She was afraid that my parents won't be happy at seeing that she spent all her money on that, so she was hiding it in her whole day. She again had a long chat with me, but a different one this time because this time she was saying all the good things for me. She gave me the present and asked me to write my phone number on paper (she didn't has a phone). Everything in house was in a mess and it was impossible to find a pen. She almost started begging me to give my number somehow as only few minutes were left before leaving. She started searching here and there and found a piece of chalk. I was like this when she asked me to write on paper using that chalk. I just smiled and said leave it. When I was saying bye to her, she said that she wanted to tell me one last thing. I asked what, she said "bhaiya (elder brother, in India cousin call each brother and sisters) the fact that I don't care about anyone is wrong and I'm very nice. I was looking at her and feeling like a dumb for not realizing about her earlier. I just said I'll call you.

After returning back, I was in a state of shocked and surprised how a kid got so much attached to me. It may not appear so from what I told, but I could feel it from her words on last day. I went to back to university hostel for 3 days and today when I came back to home, I found that she called my mom like 20 times in last 3 days asking about me. Oh my! Anyways, it was a very pleasant experience and nice change for me.
