Dreamer, you're a nosy fellow. Alizée sometimes browses this forum, and it would be crass and tacky to say mean things about her. Although if she reads what Lefty wrote, you can be sure her own curiosity will be aroused.
I'm pretty much with Lefty here in that Her Grace is a human being, not an ideal creature. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say she has qualities I dislike. Perhaps it would depend on the context. Thinking of her as a potential friend, I don't see anything to make me turn away. In fact, I would very much like to be her friend. She seems like a sweet person, if busy and hard to reach. Thinking of her as a potential wife, the standards are a lot tighter. But you know, we live on different continents, she's young enough to be my daughter, we have maybe a quarter of a language in common on a good day, and she's married to someone else, so I don't really think that's a burning urgent question at this moment. If it ever comes up, you can be sure I'll consider it very carefully. The way that celebrities are treated in this culture, it's easy for a lot of people to fall into the trap of projecting onto them a glamour consisting of one's own desires and dreams. That's especially true if one is young, and sexual attraction mixes in with the rest. It's not true, as some have suggested, that we don't know anything about Alizée, or that the person depicted in her interviews is a construct or a put-on. But it is true that there are many gaps in the picture, and that people tend to fill in those gaps with their own values and desires. In any case, Alizée is not the Goddess (or no more so than any other woman), and although she is as I said someone I would very much like to have as a friend -- and hope to -- she is not without flaws. Who is? Nor do my feelings for or opinion of her really have much to do with the way I relate to and think of other women, or Woman in general. Although my dealings with her have helped me out of a bad depression and made me better able to relate to other people, both male and female, I don't hold anyone except Alizée herself up to a standard based on Alizée. And I strongly suspect I'm not nearly as hard on her as she is on herself.

I can assure you that I wasn’t referring to anything of major significance, so it’s really no big deal. Just like Deepwaters, I would very much like to be Alizée’s friend and I wouldn’t feel that way if I thought she was a bad person. That doesn’t mean that she doesn’t possess the ability to annoy me if she wants. And what annoys me may not annoy you, so it’s also a personal thing. So I don't think there's any point for me to say any more about it.

I would have to say Alizée has influenced my perception on women but like Chommpers said "if a woman is beautiful she is beautiful".

This has to be among the slowest moving threads in a while. At least it's five pages and we're still on the same subject.
