I can see how someone could arrive at the conclusion that all male alizee fans are gay. On most fan sites (including this one) if a male says "wow Alizee is hot" or something of that nature, they are immediately yelled at by all the "true" fans for being pervs, sexist blah blah blah. So, the only guys that you hear/see talking about Alizee are the gay guys.

Alizée.
Don't sweat it garçoncanadien. This comes natural to some people, while it is hell for others. I'm an introverted technical nerd. My wife is an extroverted people person. I handle the technical stuff. She handles the relationship stuff. Over the years I've become better, to include some training and what not, but it's hard. How can you be "genuinely interested" if you're NOT INTERESTED? Otherwise it's just FAKE interested, which is worse in my opinion.

Be yourself.
Be considerate of others.
Learn to Listen. ACTIVELY

In fact, that last bit is possibly the best advice. People like to talk. They like to have good listeners. If you can become a good active listener, you will be surprised how many people see you as "interested" in them. I've known this for twenty years, and it's still a struggle for me. Sigh.

i can do all three very well - but i can't get involved in other people's conversations which i think is hurting me. mostly because i am unfamiliar with their subject matter (sports, recent movies, etc.) what to do?

Heh, it's sad that you feel YOU have to get to know them better...

If one is gay for being able to recognise something that is talented and beautiful, inside and out, then so be it. It's all a matter of perspective...

"Such a shame to believe in escape
A life on every face
And that's a change, till I'm finally left with an eight
Tell me to react, I just stare
Maybe I don't know if I should change
A feeling that we share...
It's a shame
(Such a shame)
Number me with rage, it's a shame
(Such a shame)
Number me in haste, it's a shame
This eagerness to change
It's a shame..."

People also think that grabbing a dude's crotch is gay. The world isn't fair.

I was never interested in these things. I guessed that if I want to get to know my classmates beyond a superficial friendship, I need to go out and have fun their way or at least go to parties with them to know them more. However I've told you many many of my classmates go to parties to drink a lot of beer and watch sports on TV. I have never been interested in these things my whole life. now what should I do rwd716?
yeah i know i'm not rwd716

But i'd say just be true to yourself. The majority of my 'friends' at school are only on a superficial level, and at first I hated it and wanted more, but as I've become older it's become increasingly all right to have just a couple honestly TRUE friends. I wanna be myself, i dont wanna change me to just be cool or friends with someone else, granted there's minimal give and take about how to act differently accordingly, but for the most part, live your life how you would any day, being yourself and being happy in it. When you're yourself, you tend to shine and show other happyness and will attract more genuine friends that share likes or dislikes.

well are you saying reaching for it or actually grabbing the package there, cuz some kids at my skool will reach for it and if you dont pull away they'll attempt to grab. i'm not even kidding! A couple times they've reached for mine and i knocked his hand away and was like "get the hell out of here" lol (kinda laughing at the same time to keep it from getting hostile), but like, what the hell do you make of that? i know for a fact that they're all virgins, so does that have anything to do about it? idk its just wierd, and gay...
