It's the other way around. She has abandoned them.
Look at the facts.
The Grand Rex fiasco.
The 'You and me, eye to eye' fiasco.
Nothing but let downs, disapointments and broken promises.
Ueds is released. One or two magazine articles. A launch night that hardly anyone knew about until it was over. A few TV, Radio spots and personal appearances and then zilch. Nothing. Silence.
A brief concert is Israel singing unfamiliar songs.
It's not even close to being enough. Not by a very long way.
The French fans are like the rest of us. They want to see her perform but they haven't been given that opportunity.
There is only one person to blame for that.
I personally think that it's now much too late to bring them back.
The time to do that has come and gone.

I think this goes to the root of her demons (what she struggles with as an artist).
In her time off the whole game changed. The music business collapsed - you can't make it now without touring. She hasn't figured out what she wants to do for live performance and seems to be disconnected from what really works for her ("just dance!"). She needs to find that connection like the one Zooey Deschanel made with M Ward (or obviously Mylène made with Laurent). My guess is that this is a Jeremy thing (he probably should have been that connection).
It seems like she tiptoes up to the edge and then looses her confidence or other things pull her back. I would like to see more courage rather than hanging back in the crowd at Les Enfoires (that can't last much longer).
I think what puzzles her fans is that her limits seem self imposed.
One thing going for her is that the music scene in Paris is terrific these days. Everyone artist goes there - so maybe that mix will turn up the great connection - she's obviously looking - everyone seems to like her. Its got to happen. After all MF didn't release her first album until she was 25 (but then they never looked back).

Even if just a song or two, she would still likely be invited to make an appearance to sing them live at one or two places. It would be a huge boost for her.
