The US title of this Swedish film is "Let The Right One In". Great, haunting vampire love story, the Anti-Twilight.

I haven't seen Twilight, nor do i have any desire to, however i was under the impression that it involved vampires in some form or another....perhaps it dosen't then.

YES! It's a very great movie and awfully underrated, at least of what I know.

apparently they glow like christmas lights in daylight, have all sorts of telekinetic powers, and run insanely fast, have super strength.. so basically, stephanie meyers made up her own type of vampires, rather than sticking to the vampire lore.

Funny, I was between seeing this and Twilight when I were to the cinimas couple of months ago. Luckily I took the right choice and watched this one instead of the latter piece of rubbish Cool to see it got some international recognition aswell. Watched The Martyrs the other day and I really like the first half. Then the movie kind of lost all meaning, and the end? Ok for an tragical ending but this was absurd. Wouldn't really recommend this movie to the average viewers, but it sure was original

I can't really come down either way on the whole Twilight debate, having neither read the book nor seen the movie (and not really having any desire to do either ), but there's no denying that it's definitely hooked into something. Virtually every female I know between the ages of 12 and 36 have gotten sucked into it in a big, bad way. And the way I look at it, if it acts as a gateway drug into other genre fiction like fantasy and sci-fi...or, dare I say it, even nerdier pursuits like RPGs...I'm all for it. The world needs more female geeks, dammit!
