That's called artistic vision and creativity, the ability to explore possibilities, impossibilities, and imaginative inventions.
Although the idea of diminishing existing weaponry is a part of artistic vision, it's not always implemented. In movies such as the original Transformers, many Military weaponry were actually quite effective.

You guys are looking at it all wrong. Its a superhero movie through and through. The lead actor thought it was a war movie and wasn't going to do it until somebody described that to him.

Doesn't save it from being a crapfest, from what I hear, but still.

But even superhero movies these days, such as Hulk, Transformers, Xmen and Iron Man use real military equipment with the real help of the US Military in the filming. Its ok if you come up with a few new weapons and all, but when you replace all weapons with BS on a movie especially like GI Joe, it doesn't make for a winning formula.

I finally got around to watching the number 1 rated movie on iMDB, "The Shawshank Redemption".

It's a fantastic, moving drama about prison life and corruption, Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman are absolutely amazing, and their friendship in the film is extremely memorable and heartfelt. A great feel-good film.

I saw District 9.

It so happens to be one of the very few movies in which i was rooting for the Aliens.
(it didn't help that the Armed Forces getting their ass whooped for once wasn't the United States Miltary

I saw "Coco avant Chanel" tonight (in german ofc)

10/10

it was a really impressive movie and you have to watch it if you can! And Audrey Tautou was just perfect!

This movie seems to be an Apartheid metaphor.............. South Africa..................Johannesburg.............. Separation................Ghettos............sound s exactly like Apartheid to me.

I saw this last night. Loved it! The shakey camera work during the first half made me a little queasy though.
