If I do skip, that one is probably it. Good singing, but kind of an odd song and, seriously, that cat.

VVV is completely awesome though.

And I have never badgered her to return. As someone who only discovered her in 2006, I never felt like I was "waiting" for a return.

Ryan Adams is one of my favorite musicians, but I don't plan on buying all of his albums. Jacksonville City Nights, for example, is just far too country to interest me. It's not a genre I enjoy, so I'm leaving that one alone. I don't owe it to him to buy that CD, just like I don't owe it to Alizée to buy her new album.

People's tastes don't always mesh with that of musicians. To my ear, this new Alizée album isn't very interesting. I'll pass. If she comes out with something I like in the future, great. But, in the meantime, I'm not forcing myself to listen to an album out of a misguided sense of obligation.

But as I said before, I am glad for those who ARE enjoying the new songs.

OK, DJ_Greg, I understand where you are coming from and it's cool. Apparently my previous post should not have been directed at someone who feels the way you do. You've already done something for her anyways, you played her music.

Personally, I love the new album. I've enjoyed her so much in the past year that I think she should get something from me in return. It's not a "misguided sense of obligation" in my case. Maybe I would characterize it more as a sense of devotion for all the enjoyment and entertainment I've received so far at no signifcant cost to me.

Lefty, you've just been brainwashed by the man

Don't worry, the rehabilitation process only takes a few weeks and several large pointy objects...

Some people don't think much of Decollage, but I love it; it makes me laugh.
Thats what I'm afraid of, if she does her little rap thing on stage and people start laughing, it will break my heart !! (jokes aside).

The worst part of Décollage really is Oxmo's occasional singing, it's otherwise a great song.

I still can't imagine seeing Alizée sing it, it really would be funny, she's just too cute to rap!

We'll see. She's really a very good performer. I doubt anyone will ever laugh at her except when that's what she wants. I laughed at her guitar-playing schtick in En Concert, when she looked so cute-but-absurd wearing that guitar that seemed bigger than she was and strumming ineptly with that grim expression on her face, or when she caught on to what the other guitarist was having her do with her hand, and pushed him away with that "you rascal" smile.

I think she could do something along those lines for Decollage. If people laugh, they'll laugh with her not at her.
