I'll pretty much agree with Deep here. I think he said it very well even if I'm not 100% on all points (pretty darn close though). When I first discovered Alizée I had no kind of illusion that I could ever have a sexual relationship with her and because I quickly found out that she was married never actually wanted to because I have no desire to violate that trust. And actually at first I didn't even find that JEAM dance sexually arousing (depending on how you want to define that) even though I found it ridiculously sexy (as one person said) and eventually decided it was the sexiest thing I had ever seen. Maybe she just blew my mind and it took a while to even sink in.

I must also say that I find that statement ridiculous. And if you say that actors should do go ahead and do whatever the script says, then I think you are contradicting yourself.

Here's another thought... what about models? There are women who model clothing that is provocative. Should only unmarried women do so? I find the practicality of that to be silly and that's not the kind of society I live in, nor Alizée. If Alizée wanted to be a model I think that would have been a great addition to her career. Still, I think she would apply her own standards and some things she would refuse to model.

The thing is that one can't really draw a hard line in the sand and say that on one side she's doing that and on the other she's not. Alizée would generally agree with the spirit of your statement and that's why she wants to try to be more personal and genuine and once said that she does not select clothing to entice the audience, but if they find it sexy, well fine. I think Alizée also does not really mean it in an absolute form and that's why she agreed to do this cover. I'm sure she realizes that they will sell more magazines because she is looking particularly sexy, but in general it is not her intention to do that.

I personally would prefer that she loosen up a bit on that point because it gives some spice to an otherwise boring life. Though yes, I will admit that there are plenty of women around who will go as far as one might want with that, porn on the extreme end. So, why do I care that much about Alizée? Well, because I do find her particularly beautiful, I have formed an attachment to her, and admittedly part of that attachment is the thought that she is not so cheap as so many women are. It's a bit paradoxical perhaps, but that's life. In case you hadn't figured it out yet, there are many paradoxes in human behavior. Some are even rational and some aren't. I have a couple years on you and I only recently realized some of that. Generally speaking humans are not driven by rationality, but it does affect us, thus we have these conversations.

But if you don't like the photos, you don't like them. I have no problem with you saying that you think she went to far except that I find that sad as I don't agree. The one and only thing I would have a problem with even if this was Alizée's own expression is the "boy toy" thing because it seems more blatant than is congruent with her personality. Even so, probably all she would have to do is say in an interview, 'well, you know it's just a photo and I thought it would be amusing' and she'd have me. But, what's wrong with the rest of it? A woman does not stay so beautiful forever. Enjoy and share with the world while it lasts.

And to take the point to it's extremity in a biological sense, if you are a normal heterosexual man like me, just finding to her to pretty is in some sense sexual as what is the recognition of beauty in a woman for if not to encourage mating!

I like this Jalen guy, he seems pretty cool and centered on Alizée like we all should be. I agree with what Roman said.

Seems to be what happens when someone has an opinion, specially when one has an opinion to get you more viewing pleasure. And god forbid one question anything, maybe because one would not like the true answer to such question, or would feel bad giving an true no bullshit answer.

It is clear we draw a different line between what is proper and what is not. And Alizee too. We all live according to our own morals. I am just slightly disenchanted with her ways. For when she releases photos that are on my side of the line, I'll be sure to be around and enjoy them. :-)
