I know that. Never seen a real golf ball. My idea was based on the size which I have assumed for a golf ball. That's why at first I doubted it. Now I know its true.

They're both great movies, but if you don't know/care anything about rugby or South Africa then Avatar is more up your alley. My friends that don't know much about rugby all think that Invictus moves a little slowly and doesn't try to connect with them, and I can see how they would think that.

So I finally got around to seeing Avatar, and really liked it too. I mean it had it's problems, like being far too black and white (why not make the mineral not only valuable, but vital to human survival?), and a total take-off of Frank Herbert's Dune (not that it was wholly original either)... And I really wish they'd explored the psychological and philosophical implications of the avatar technology more (Philip K Dick would have had a field day with the concept)... But it was still one heck of an adventure, and a pretty good love story. Much like Cameron's last film (Titanic), actually.

I agree with all of that, Ben. What I found was that the movie was not a particularly great script/story and the acting was average, but not bad. However, it was just the experience of being immersed fully into the world that Cameron created. The movie was just so pretty. The best comment I described to sum up my viewing of it after was "life looks so standard def after seeing this." I'm not normally one to triumph effects over story, but I think everything else involved in Avatar was just good enough to make it a very quality film.
