Yeah, you don't want to push your luck. My guess is 10 would be the high limit. I wouldn't doubt there are people who would try to get a bunch of CD's signed so they could turn around and sell them on ebay. The people running the autograph signing may be watching out for that. Ben or others that have been to these things may have a better feel for how much you can get away with by observing how things went last time.
