I believe you when you say that, but there's a b.s. ominous force that wants to tell me that we are at odds with the French, or at least they wouldn't accept me over there. If we go back enough in history I'm sure we'll all find some reason to hate each other... The Franks can hate the Normans, but hey, eventually even they managed to find common ground and join forces to massacre those damns turks in the holy land.... Even now as we glimpse over the abyss and we watch hatred and war consume our world.. we are still not having the right discussions...

.... Why is the American evening news discussing the semantic differences between "civil war" and "sectarian violence" ??? I have to say that as someone with Iraqi roots I am offended that the American media would trivialize this issue in this manner.... People are dying!! .. You can't just pull your troups back like the Democrats would have you do... this country is in serious trouble and the liberals fighting for this country need American backing. If the democrats pull out and abandon the Iraqi moderates, then I predict that this will haunt you for the next 20 years....

As an Arab European ( I have a Dutch passport) I truly hope that America will support alternative energy sources, so that my home will be released from the oil curse. I would ask one thing from my American friends... don't abandon us just because the realists or the Democrats ask you to do so.... You followed their advice through the 80s and 90s and they brought you al-Qaeda. The rest of the world needs you to see through the bullshit of George Bush and still keep your responsibility.. Bush might have been wrong on many things but one thing he was not wrong on was that if you show these fundamentalists any mercy they will retaliate without mercy...
